Finishing off the grapes 🍇
Can you see this pretty female kestrel sitting watching the blue tits eating the seeds ? Sadly she has a broken wing. We managed to catch her cos she can’t fly. We took her up to the vet who says they will repair the wing and then send her to a wildlife rehab in Nantes. Once she has recovered they will release her back into the wild. Fingers crossed she will recover soon ♥️
#Update Friday this morning the river is back to this level but last night it covered garden island and the walnut garden was under 3 ft of water and it flooded the courtyard so the poor dogs couldn’t go for a walk as nowhere was dry and it’s raining again today hurrah 😃
OMG We had heavy rain last night and it’s been pouring down all day today Yesterday the river was 6 inches below the barrage this morning it’s flowing over the barrage and down the island steps like a waterfall We have 3 days of rain to look forwards to So I can see another flood looming 🌧️
The river raged last night and covered all the islands and garden island up to the table top. But this morning it is slowing and reducing. At 9am it has gone down by a foot. The walnut garden is visible again as is the courtyard. Some islands are just picking their heads out of the river. Thank goodness it has gone down as my sister needs to fly home today 💦
Yep it’s definitely Autumn the fire is blazing we are drinking our hot chocolate and the dogs have got to hot and moved away fr9m the wood stove haha enjoy Autumn everyone whatever your doing 🍁
We are very sad to say we have no hens left and only one of our runner ducks is still alive but poorly after foxes got into the orchard yesterday
Raj is trying to recover from puncture wounds to his neck and chest
This is a very sad day after 10 years of keeping hens without any problems or attacks we now feel we may not want to keep them again because we cannot protect them 😢
Raj and Indie are still a tad shy 😂😂
This is the mess Tony has made in the meadow. Retrieving trees from the river and getting down the dead trees from the pear tree corner. Now chopping and splitting them and stacking ready to be taken in to use on our woodstove for the winter. What a mucky pup he is haha 😂
Back when the hens roamed the courtyard they liked to say good morning to guests. They are now relegated to the orchard field for safety reasons but are still fun to watch 🐓
