I am a huge Hay Day fan and I am thinking of organising holidays for other addicts at my chateau in France. What do you think? All feedback - good or bad - will be appreciated.
The holidays would be a chance to play the game with other fans, swap tips, eat food inspired by Hay Day and do activities associated with the game.
It could even be the chance for a neighbourhood with members from across the globe to meet each other and have fun.
Le Castel is a Napoleon III chateau on a farm in Normandy. It has ten bedrooms so a maximum of 20 people. It looks a bit like the manor house in the game...but has twin turrets.
The Hay Day inspired activities could include :
Lobster lunch at a beach cafe
Cream tea at a farm with pigs, goats, chickens etc
Trip to a beautiful zoo.
Go down a mine and see water and light shows.
Horse riding on the beach
Cookery class...make a Hay Day cake
Go to a horse race or visit the beautiful national stud farm at saint lo
Go to a bee farm
Visit old bread oven or bakers
Tour lobster farm
Go fishing
Cinema night on the big screen at Le Castel with pop corn - watch Animal Farm or Babe
Play old fashioned gramophone at Le Castel and dance the night away
Take a bike ride along quiet country lanes to visit a château.
Firework finale at the end of the holiday.
I am thinking of offering two types of Hay Day holidays...
1. Simply Hay Day will be a Winter snuggle and fun holiday filled with cosy times in front of the log burner playing Hay Day. You will be able to play your favourite game on the big movie screen and swap tips with other fans. There will be three meals a day at Le Castel with Hay Day inspired menus. All wine, beer and soft drinks will be included. Costs 700 euro per person for four days for three meals a day, wine, beer and soft drinks. 70 euro per night for sole use of a room. This is for hard core addicts not interested in doing anything but playing. However, optional activities will be available.
2. Active Hay Day breaks will be a fun packed holiday filled with game playing, tips and Hay Day inspired activities and food. Costs 1,200 euro for four days including all food, wine, beer, soft drinks and activities.
Both types of holiday can be extended by three days to see some of Normandy’s world class tourist sights. These include Mont Saint Michel, the D Day beaches and Bayeux tapestry.
Here’s how the Active Hay Day holidays may work..
Arrive Monday. Welcome drinks. Everyone sets up a new farm and gets it to neighbour hood level real fast! Should take about two hours if you use your main farms to help everyone . You can do Turbo Trucker! We all join a Le Castel neighbourhood and get ready for the Derby the next day. Stockpile those products while eating Hay Day nibbles. Swap tips.
Hay day themed dinner French style. The casserole will be beef bourguignon followed by a Hay Day cake or tart.
Crank up the Hay Day styled old fashioned gramophone at Le Castel for a night of music and fun.
Tuesday. Let’s play the derby...our new neighbourhood will be in the rookie league so we will be able to do all our tasks in an hour and win! The other teams won’t know what hit them! Then we can go out for a lobster lunch by the beach and celebrate. In the afternoon you have the choice of horse riding on the beach or visiting an oyster and mussel farm.
Back to Le Castel for more gaming and tips.
In the evening we will be making our own pasta and pizzas for dinner.
Wednesday. Farm decorating tips. Masterclass with edit mode on big screen. Lunch at Le Castel.
Visit a real farm with afternoon tea
Cake making with Nicky at Le Castel. Eat what you make for dinner!
Fish and chip dinner..English style with crispy batter and mushy peas.
Pull down the movie screen and watch a farm film like Babe or Animal Farm.
Thursday. Kick off with a couple of hours gaming.
Afterwards go down a mine with water and light shows followed by a visit to a bee farm and a cider farm.
Hay day gala dinner with sushi and Mexican dishes. Dress up as your favourite character or just wear a hat from the hay day machine.
Leave Friday or stay on for the weekend and see Mont St Michel, D Day sights and the Bayeux tapestry. Drive yourselves or we can arrange tours.
Hopefully you will have a partner or friend who is also a Hay Day addict. However, you can come on your own or we will arrange activities for a non playing partner.
