One downstairs bedroom with double bed and original exposed beams, overlooks the garden, and has an adjacent shower room & WC. The upstairs bedroom with original exposed beams houses two double beds, with adjacent bathroom with bath, vanity wash basin and WC. The private spacious garden has a large sun-trap terrace with BBQ, garden furniture and sun loungers. Indoor/outdoor games are provided for your enjoyment. There is also a large enclosed private parking area within the grounds. The property is within 10 minutes drive from the nearby historic market town of Fontenay le Comte, offering many shops, cafe-bars and restaurants, with several supermarkets for those all-important supplies and the market town of Lucon is within a 20 minute drive from the property. The forest of Mervent, the beautiful renowned Citadel of Vouvant and the Marais Poitevin National Park (Green Venice) are also within a 20 minute drive. La Rochelle, Chatelaillon Plage, Fouras and Ile de Re, together with many of the beautiful beaches of the Vendee and Charente Maritime, are all within an hour’s drive, as is Puy du Fou, Europe’s premier multi-award winning theme park. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is an outdoor climbing & adventure centre at nearby Mervent with a sailing club/school. There is also an excellent indoor & outdoor swimming pool complex at nearby Fontenay le Comte. There are many rivers and canals throughout the area for fishing and boating enthusiasts and the area is renowned for walking and cycling, with numerous cycle tracks and walkways meandering through beautiful open countryside. Cycles are available for hire including delivery/collection to/from Elgargite. For cycling enthusiasts www.vendeevelo.vendee.fr provides an excellent online app guiding you through the numerous Vendee-wide cycle tracks, and includes details of the local café bars and restaurants en route.
