A great mystic and doctor of the Church, Catherine of Siena is celebrated on April 29. Exceptional figure of medieval Christianity, her life will be devoted to charity and love.

Born in 1347, the youngest of 25 children, Catherine of Siena is illiterate. She heard the call of God very young.
At 16, she became a Dominican tertiary and put on the coat of "mantelatte", a black overcoat on her white coat. The widows and virgins of this Third Order of Saint Dominic do not share a community life. But their vocation consists in living celibacy, prayer and penance in solidarity.
Spirited in nature, she preaches publicly for the Reformation of the Church and the return to Rome of the pope who had fled to Avignon. Without complex, she wrote him a burning letter in which she urged him to return to Rome. She will even go and get him. In total, she wrote nearly 400 letters to the powerful of her time, making her a mediator for peace and unity. She also travels extensively through Italy and the South of France.
Yet this overflowing activity is only the apparent face of an intense mystical life, with ecstasies during which her disciples, amazed, copy the prayers that escape from her lips. Her "Dialogue", which is also one of the classics of the Italian language, retraces these fiery interviews with Christ, whom she joined at 33, in the beatific vision.
It was a time when an illiterate young woman could become the confidant, and even the counselor, of the popes. A fervent faith then impressed more than the level of education.

Art : Saint Catherine of Siena - ITALIAN SCHOOL OF THE XVII E CENTURY- Notice the 3 common attributes with Mary Magdalene: the cross, the Gospel and the skull. This is explained since Catherine of Siena belongs to the Dominican order of which Mary Magdalene is the patron saint.

The heart of Mary Magdalene was crushed by the pain of the cross, overwhelmed by the sadness of the Lord's tomb, and finally grieved to have lost the One who made all his happiness ... But on a word from the Master "Mary", her tears give way to joy and this joy makes her the first witness to the Resurrection.

Veronique Flayol and Jill Sand are pleased to present their Sacred Journey specially organized for Fall Equinox 2020.
The period of equinoxes where nights and days are balanced is a time of the year favorable to great understandings on the decisions that guide our whole life.
Indeed, the entry into the sign of balance and the mutations of autumn question us about our choices and our ability to perform them with the maximum of lucidity.
This journey is for those who have the desire to revive and deepen their connection with nature and to live their personal and spiritual journey.

Sacred Feminine, Cult of the Mother Goddess of the Origins
In all ancient civilizations, people venerated the original power of women. The Woman was magical like Earth.
Today, Mary Magdalene is the icon par excellence of the Sacred Feminine. She is also a representation of the heart chakra, of all-encompassing love, transforming everything, initiating.

Mary Magdalene and the first Christians, men and women, practiced the Anointing in the same therapeutic spirit as that taught by Jesus. She transported to Gaul her knowledge of rare, precious oils and perfumes, with which she anointed the master's feet at Bethanie.

Mary Magdalene is perhaps one of the most controversial figures of Christianity. Considered by some as a woman of light morals and by others as a great initiate, a priestess consecrated to the highest, her personality and her role with Jesus remain a mystery to many theologians. Despite her age-old reputation as a "woman of bad life," nowhere in the Gospels is it said that she was a pr******te.

Wonderful and peaceful place to celebrate Easter. I love to attend the mass there, the voice of the Sisters singing, so pure and clear, is a praise to God's glory.

Easter, the mystery of Jesus' resurrection - https://mailchi.mp/ad57b0831031/easter-the-mystery-of-jesus-resurrection
The resurrection of Christ is essential for a Christian. The four Gospels and Paul's Epistles speak of the resurrection as an event that actually took place, even though no one was a spectator. The early Christian faith in the resurrection of Jesus is a historical reality that no one can deny.

March 20, Spring Equinox !

The duration of the day will be equal to that of the night, the sun rises full east and sets quite to the west.

The spring equinox is associated with the East because it announces the rebirth of life at the end of the winter, just as the sun rising in the East announces the nascent day. Symbolically, it is from the East that comes the Light that is sought by those who engage in a spiritual process.
The Spring Equinox is a celebration of balance because it is no longer winter and not summer. It's the magical time between the two seasons, where Mother Nature wakes up slowly, slowly emerging from her winter lethargy.

At that time, the Greeks were celebrating Persephone's return to the surface of the earth for six months. Daughter of Zeus and Demeter, she was kidnapped by Hades, who made her queen of the underworld.
Hades had made a pact with Demeter, thus sharing his wife between the world of Light and the kingdom of Darkness. This myth expresses the movement of vegetation that dies at the approach of winter to resurge again with spring.
In worship, the feast celebrating the departure of Persephone was held in autumn, the beautiful season being associated with her return.

We can also see the Nordic influence of this feast, with the name that is usually given to it: Ostara from Eostra: a Germanic goddess of fertility to whom offerings of painted eggs were made to ensure the coming of spring. This time of year was also associated with the Roman goddess Aurora, the Greek goddess Eos and the Hindu goddess Ushas.

The equinox would also be associated with Freya in Norse mythology. Goddess of dawn and spring fecundity, it is associated with the symbolism of eggs and hare. This association with the creation of the world has generated the custom of painting eggs. These represented the Cosmic Egg.

Loaded with ancient symbols, the spring equinox is still celebrated today. For Easter, we eat chocolate rabbits (the hare is the sacred animal of Eostra as a symbol of fertility), chickens and chocolate eggs. The word Easter, in English, comes from the name of this Goddess.

Happy Spring Equinox !

In the course of my explorations...

Let's discover the Carluc Priory

St Pierre de Carluc was built on the side of a cliff between the villages of Cereste and Reillanne. Although most of it is in ruins, this priory still is one of the greatest examples of medieval rupestrian architecture in Provence.

Former Carolingian monastery and Roman, mentioned for the first time in texts dating back to 1011 but certainly older, this abbey knew an important radiation until the beginning of the 14th century: about fifteen priory were then under its dependence.

This high place of spiritual life seems to have existed for more than 2,000 years and could be a Druidic site given the presence of a source that never dries up and a large stone that would have been an altar of sacrifice. It testifies to the installation of the precursors of Christianity (IV). These anchorites who lived as hermits began to spread the new religion in Haute-Provence, and many converts were buried on the site near the local Saints (presence of many anthropomorphic burials).
The charter of 1011 is the first known text that quotes Saint Peter of Carluc, as well as Archinric, who was abbot of Montmajour a few years earlier. There is therefore a priory at Carluc.

This former 12th century monastery was also a Templar commandery.

March 8, "International Women's Day"

On March 8, 1910, at the Second International Conference of Socialist Women in Copenhagen, the German journalist Clara Zetkin proposes to organize an "International Women's Day" to commemorate the strikes of American textile workers, which took place on 8 March March 1857, and March 8, 1909. The Germans, the English then the French take up this date.

Equality is a fundamental right of the human person regardless of gender, background, culture and religion, according to Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1945. Yet, it does not seem to be respected, at least with regard to women.

Discrimination and violence against women are a reality as evidenced by the numerous women trafficking, sexual violence, forced marriages, low wages.
Differences and inequalities exist on all levels
-In the world, the situation of girls is very worrying. 64 million girls aged 6 to 14 do not have access to education.
- At the social and economic level, unemployment affects more women. Inequalities exist in all countries of the world. Female leadership positions in all countries of the world remain insignificant and do not exceed 2%.
- At the political level, less than 5% of heads of state and CEOs of the largest companies and leaders of international organizations are women (even more important gap in African countries)

This day will remind all states of the world, to put in place measures that can help to reduce the gap between men and women, to stop all forms of discrimination and violence against women.

I think of all those women in the world who fought for their cause, sometimes at the cost of their lives. Brave women who dared to say no.

I found this nice music and a candle in our grateful heart, let's pay tribute to these women

Assisi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is here that Saint Francis was born in 1181. One day while listening to a passage of the Gospel, it comes to him an answer to what he seeks: to spend his life to love all the creation. He transforms his life, becomes poor, cares to announce the messages of joy, hope and love contained in the Bible, and to bring peace to people and to all creation. He dresses in a gray garment and is surrounded by the waist of a cord. He wears the garment of the poor man of his time.

All his life, he promotes solidarity to the poor and the marginalized. He denounces injustices and opposes any appropriation. He finds in prayer all his strength to love and help others. One day, he realizes that the whole Creation is a great family, a kind of universal fraternity. He invites all humans to the mutual love and respect of our Mother Earth, our sister the Moon, our brother the Sun ...
At the end of his life, he wrote what is called the "Song of the Friar Sun" which is the culmination of his teachings on the respect and love that all humans should bring to all creatures of God. It thus joins the concerns of those who care about the defense of nature, animals and the environment. This is why, in 1979, he is proclaimed "patron of ecologists".

Louis XIV pilgrimage at Sainte Baume, exactly 359 years ago !

On the morning of February 5, 1660, the small community of a dozen Dominican friars residing in the monastery near the Grotto of St. Baume, was in turmoil. They had just been warned that they would have the visit of the young king of France Louis XIV (the Sun King), accompanied by his mother Anne of Austria and his younger brother Philippe d'Anjou. Louis was only 21 years old, Philippe was 18 years old, and the queen mother 59 years old.
In the early morning at the convent of Saint Maximin where she had spent the night with her two sons, the queen had taken a coach to join Nans, a small town at the foot of the mountain.
There, she was installed on a litter to climb to Sainte Baume. Her two valiant and sporty sons had preferred to ride two alert horses to finish their pilgrimage.
At that time, there was, at the foot of the cave, a large stable where the mounts would be kept during the time that their devotion in the cave near Marie Madeleine would last ...
The royal family did the pilgrimage to thank Mary Magdalene for the birth of Louis XIV. Indeed, 22 years before Anne of Austria and Louis XIII had come on a pilgrimage to the Grotto to ask Mary Magdalene descent they had been waiting for 21 years! The king, who had been called Louis Dieudonne (God given), was born a year later.
He was the last king of France who made the pilgrimage of the Holy Places of Provence.

Standing stones, continuing my investigations ....

This weekend, despite a weather a little overcast and rather chilly, I left again in recognition. I went looking for new megaliths in my area.
I am pleased to share with you my 3 discoveries.
One of these megaliths is called the "healer stone of Ayre-Peyronne". Do not smile, it does exist, I went to the site.
It is a megalith of red porphyry more than two meters high, which stands majestically along the road.
This raised stone which sinks at least a meter into the earth, is adorned with more than two hundred cups (small hollow) and a crowned head snake on its upper part. Scientists believe that these small cavities practiced thousands of years ago were probably intended to collect rainwater. The Etymology of the word cup brought from Latin, " small cut " and it said cavities carved on prehistoric megalithic : rocks, menhirs and dolmens.
They seem to be topographical indicators engraved on a " bitter " and saying, " at such a distance bifurcation, streams (or sea ) to cross, etc.

But then, why is its name a "healer stone"?
Its major axis is located north-west-south-east, and the stone would be above two underground currents intersecting at right angles. One can think that the vertical radiations emitted by these two currents, would follow the central line of this menhir playing the role of collector of waves.
The north face of the menhir has a positive polarity and the south face has a negative polarity. The west and the east sides give interference, and the top of the cone-shaped stone provides no radiation. Thus a person having a negative polarity put in contact with the cups on the north side, sees his polarity transformed into positive and undergoes, on the other hand, no transformation by putting yourself in contact with the west face.
Disturbing findings that would explain the beneficial properties attributed to stone for millennia?
One thing is certain: one of the currents that passes under the menhir is that of creek Aiguebonne (good water - aigo in Provençal means water). So why not imagine that the primitive people who were water worshipers did not decide to raise this monument to the glory of the goddess of water?
There is evidence of the existence in the same axis, less than 150 meters away, of a magnificent red basalt sw****ka carved 30 centimeters in diameter, which could date back to 6000 years. I did not find it, just found a cross carved on a stone and apparently only the menhir remains.

Mont Saint Michel is a hotspot of energy, built on an old privileged place of Tradition. It has a very high vibratory rate.
It has always be a very important place of pilgrimage, for ages.
At Mont Saint Michel we find both "female" or "black" or "terrestrial" Romanesque art from the symbolic domain of the dragon who embodies the forces of the earth, and "masculine" or "white" Gothic art or "celeste" belonging to the michaelic world that represents the forces of heaven.
