Congratulations to Pip Hare who became the first British finisher in the 2020 Vendee Globe Round the World Yacht Race this week.
She stayed at Le Village du Bois during the week before the race started last November.
With any luck visiting France will be feasible in summer 21...look forward to seeing you there.

Things are definitely starting to roll in France. French families and groups are starting to book holidays and it looks as if July and August will run at something close to normal.
Passenger ferry crossings from the UK and Ireland look to be restarting at the end of June and travel across the country also looks as if it will be fully back to normal.
So....see you in France.

Look no further, after the success of our last one and to celebrate our 5th year we are running another competition. The prize will be a week’s stay for two people in our La Bergerie gite between 6 June and 11 July 2020 worth £725!

Lots of people are asking me about the impact of Brexit on holidays and visiting France. The short answer is, as far as we can tell, none. My perception is that France has no intention of making entry from, and returning to, GB difficult in any way. In fact, as our nearest neighbours and one of the countries that has always 'done its own thing' in Europe - it will bend over backwards to ensure that gaining access from the UK to France continues to be as straightforward as possible.
Locally, because of its fantastic, sunny and very warm but not unbearably hot climate, the South Vendee is very attractive to UK visitors..Talmont St Hilaire, however, remains a very french, unspoilt, area where the few British residents, and their guests, are and will continue to be, made to feel very welcome in a 'real France' environment..

After a great season in 2018 we are looking forward to welcoming new and returning guests. Talmont St Hilaire is looking great after its pre-Tour de France makeover and Le Plage Veillon, our superb local blue flag beach is even better after the investment in it over the last 12 months.
