A night of tall tales of bandits, lost treasures, Maharajas and the Queen Victoria is the last thing an "Anglaise" expects in a remote lighthouse in Corsica and when a strange turn of events lead us to a long lost book, we just had to send it home to the lighthouse.

The question is what more stories are there to be told...?

"We returned on Saturday night from our wonderful week of walking in Corsica. Such a beautiful place, magnificent scenery and great walking. Everything went so well. Every hotel were so welcoming and in every way our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. THE WALKING; what a marvellous 6 days we had. The walks so suited us and so well paced. The walks placed us in magnificent scenery and just beautiful country side. The cuckoo calling every day. We found the notes easy to follow. Not that that we didn't go off track on couple of occassions!!!! but that is the adventure. Transport always arrived, each transfer was so smooth. A special mention to the people we met, so courteous, pleasant and obliging. The weather couldn't have been more perfect ; we had 6 days of sunshine in mid to high twenties, I'm sure you organised that too.!!!!! The people of Corsica were just wonderful, warm and friendly. Many thanks to all of you !

BASTIA airport will be a hub of activity again in 2022 - BRITISH AIRWAYS are returning, flying in from LONDON HEATHROW & EASYJET from GATWICK (twice weekly from May) and TRANSAVIA have put in a long awaited route from ROTTERDAM, to facilitate travel for our Dutch walkers. NORWEGIAN have flights from COPENHAGEN, STOCKHOLM and OSLO for next summer and AIR CORSICA will also be operating into the airport from GOTEBURG. Why not come to the North Corsica this year maybe on our VILLAGES OF THE BALAGNE holiday...? We've been out on the terrain checking the trails !

La Corse en majesté. C'est toujours surprenant de réaliser qu'elle est plus proche de l'Italie que de l'Hexagone – à force de regarder les cartes de la météo ou celles des livres d’histoire géo où on la rapproche du continent, j’ai grandi pensant qu’elle était à 200 m au large de Nice, et quelle ne fut pas ma surprise de constater qu’elle a une sœur proche, la Sardaigne, à une encablure au sud :) Cette photo illustre parfaitement ce que les astronautes aiment photographier depuis l'espace : des paysages reconnaissables au 1er coup d'œil, une verticale presque parfaite, et le reflet du soleil sur la mer 😍
Corsicans are a proud folk, but when you see their island from space you can understand why. It is just as good on ground: the countryside is basically a wild herb garden with mountains and beach all over so you are hungry at the end of the day, and the food is good. 😀 Nice winding roads for a motorbike tour as well! 🏍

Its the holidays here, and this week we tested out a small but perfectly formed walk to a mini-summit, right on our doorstep of "les Crêtes", we love the walking around Ajaccio, it sure makes you feel on top of the world !

"The sea cures all ailments of man" Plato. This Bonifacio coastal walk did for us this week, it was great to get out in south Corsica after so many weeks inside. A lighthouse, quiet creeks and a chapel, and also a very unusual walking companion. We loved this walk !
