Lovely morning at Les Arts au Jardin in Bonnes . This lovely village just a few minutes drive (or walkable on a cooler day) opens up sites within its commune each year and invites artists to display their paintings and sculptures. Sites include residents gardens, chateau estates and rural setting by the river Dronne where you can wander about, meet the artists and enjoy 😊

Lovely walk this morning at Poltrot, a nature and activity centre just 4km away. Sadly we did not see any otters along the river bank but we did spot a Kingfisher looking for its lunch.
With free access all year round it offers activities for all ages. In the summer there is a restaurant and bar and plenty of picnic and bar-b-que areas. A maze and tree top adventures are great entertainment for the kids. You can hire a canoe and follow the river all the way to Aubeterre-sur-Dronne

Lovely atmosphere at Aubeterre-sur-Dronne Christmas market yesterday. Covid passes required and everyone in masks so it felt really safe. Lots of artisan stalls and even some cute baby goats in the manger!

Lake Jemaye (Grand Etang de la Jemaye) is only a 30 minute drive away. It is popular in the summer for its man made beach, restaurant, fishing, nature walks and activity sites but it is also a wonderful place to walk during the Autumn and Winter months. A full circuit of the lake takes about 75 minutes at a steady pace.
