Welcome to Normandy!
Normandy is one of the great historic regions of France.
From the Norman invasion of England in 1066 to the D-Day landings of 1944, Normandy has long played an outsized role in European history.

This rich and often brutal past is brought vividly to life by the spectacular and iconic island monastery of Mont St-Michel; the incomparable Bayeux Tapestry, world-famous for its cartoon scenes of 11thcentury life; and the transfixing cemeteries and memorials along the D-Day beaches, places of solemn pilgrimage.

Lower-profile charms include a variety of dramatic coastal landscapes, plenty of pebbly beaches, some of France’s finest museums, quiet pastoral villages and architectural gems ranging from Rouen’s medieval old city – home of Monet’s favorite cathedral – to the maritime charms of Honfleur to the striking postwar modernism of Le Havre.

With their historic links and their proximity, it is hardly surprising that the Normandy area has much in common with the south of England; the rolling countryside is not too different - fields and meadows bordered by hedges, even bluebell woods.
Furthermore, the historic and vernacular styles of architecture are not too different either. Camembert, apples, cider, cream-rich cuisine and the very freshest fish and seafood provide further reasons to visit this accessible and beautiful region of France! 😍

Did you know that the Sacre-Coeur basilica in Paris is the second highest point of the city? (Of ourse after the iconic Eiffel Tower).

The Eiffel Tower is 300 meters tall and the Montparnasse Tower is 210 meters tall, so the Sacre-Coeur takes the second place in the highest points of Paris, being 213 meters above sea level.

After the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sacre-Coeur is the most visited church in France.
It has one of the biggest and heaviest bells in the world, it weighs about 19 tons!!
