Coast 2 Coast Trans-Pyrenees Tour
PYRENEES EXPEDITION 2018 - DAVE & SAM
A short video for Rick and those coming to Iceland this summer who asked about river crossings. This should give a fair idea of what to expect, but bear in mind that they can and do change.
TRAVEL TIPS - Trasheroo
Back in the days when a Land Rover was called a Land Rover and a Defender had something to do with football, it would be hard to imagine all the gizmo's and gadgets for 4x4's that are available today. So, when a few years ago a couple of our guests turned up with what looked like large haversacks strapped to the back of their vehicles you can imagine the wry smile that made an appearance on my face. Well, “pass the salt this hat looks good”; we now own two of these handy 4x4 backpacks!!
The “Trasheroo” storage bag has been a real boon to us, it’s great for go to items that you don’t really want inside the vehicle. We have used it for carrying everything from tow rope, deckchairs, ramps, electric cables, mucky boots and dirty washing to obviously trash. It has survived a couple of years now of our 4x4 adventures, in Iceland, Corsica and Sardinia and of course numerous Pyrenean Explorer tours and has proven to be a really useful addition to our kit.
We bought both of ours from Jed at Campervan Culture; as always we have no link or affiliation, we’re just satisfied customers.

Rafting in the Pyrenees; Landtreks Tours
It's not all driving... it's always fun on the water too :-)
Landtreks Explorers
Landtreks Explorers - we used this a few years back, but had lots of new faces since, so here's an update :-)
Landtreks Pyrenean Explorer East Tours
Some of the fantastic trails that we drive on our Pyrenean Explorer Tours in the Eastern Pyrenees!
Landtreks Explorer Corsica & Sardinia Tours
Explorer Corsica & Explorer Sardinia Tours.
Join us for a tour of either Corsica or Sardinia, or as they are less than 10 miles apart and only 50 minutes by ferry, join us for both as a combined two island tour.
The " Helen Positioning System"
Thought this was funny - an Icelandic guy asking Landtreks navigator Helen aka the HPS (Helen Positioning System) the way to a fishing lake in the interior of Iceland; ironically he was spot on in picking the right person to ask :-)

The Kjölur Route
The Kjölur is the route that winds its way up between the Langjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers passing close to the hot springs and mud pools at Hveravellir.
Another River Crossing
Another of the numerous river crossings we encountered...
Seljalandfoss

Bridges
What an incredible feat of engineering! In 1994 on our first 4x4 trip to Iceland, these bridges were constructed in timber, doubly amazing given the lack of trees on the island; the wooden bridges were washed away following a sub-glacial eruption on the Vatnajökull glacier in 1996.
