Traditional midwinter was a time for feasting, for sharing the relative plenty after a year spent growing and harvesting. The oldest traditions are of fun and mischief, visiting neighbours to sing and drink. Midwinter is also a solar festival, celebrating the passing of the longest night and the return of the sun. We are therefore planning a festive fun filled week of mischief, mask making and singing as well as warming food and drinks as we look to the future with hope around the longest night of the year.

What a wonderful and moving experience to witness the Sri Dasmesh Pipe Band as they marched through Kenmore to the grave of Maharajah Duleep Singh the last ruler of Punjab, India.

What a superb night at the local Kenmore Highland Games, very busy with great stalls, food, heavy events, Scottish dancing and more!
