This tranquil destination is located off the coast of Northumberland. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne holds a special place in the history of the UK.

⛰️Located just to the north of the castle is the Gertrude Jekyll Garden which is a small and pretty flower garden designed Edward Hudson in 1911.

🗺️The island’s museum tells the story of St Cuthbert and the development of Lindisfarne Priory. English Heritage hosts a programme of living history events at the priory during the summer.

⛰️Take a walk on the remote beaches of North Shore and Sandham Bay or spend the evening exploring the charming village shops and cafes, there’s much to see on this serene island.

🗺️Lindisfarne, being a tidal island, is accessible by a modern causeway and an ancient pilgrims’ path both accessible only at low tide.
