🚶🏻‍♀️When we say, the pretty town of Wassenaar is just over the road from Duinrell, here’s a little time-lapse to let you see what that short walk looks like. 🇳🇱 Wassenaar has lovely cobbled streets, shops, bars, cafes, terraces and delicious ice-cream parlours. 🇳🇱 We (Jane and family) recently spent a fun-filled weekend at EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel. ☀️ We had a wonderful time exploring the local area, the Loonse and Drunense inland dunes, nearby attractions and of course, EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel itself. 💦 With an indoor and outdoor pool, play areas, places to eat out and an activities programme, it’s a great family friendly location and is perfect for visiting Efteling theme park which is just 5 minutes away! What a week it’s been so far! With many places going on sale for summer 2025 it’s been a very busy week at Little Clogs HQ! Here’s Laura with a quick update and a couple of things we’ve spotted about booking Beekse Bergen for 2025! Also a reminder of the best times to book. Easter is a good time as the Dutch only get the long Easter weekend, May half term, despite the Dutch bank holiday, is a good time to book and the last week of August. When we say that the Netherlands and Belgium have huge sandy beaches, this is what we mean. The beach town of Zandvoort is just 30 mins from Amsterdam by train. Think sun-baked terraces, cocktails, sunloungers and endless space to play, yes please! How would you like to stay on a farm in the middle of Dutch nature whilst relaxing in luxury glamping accommodation? 🚜 We feature a range of super FarmCamps holidays where children can learn about and join in farm life guided by the farmers, take part in organised activities and have the freedom to roam safely around the farm. 🐴 FarmCamps Breehees focuses on horses and ponies and is a wonderfully family friendly farm. We (Jane and family) have enjoyed a few holidays here and love it. There’s a large sandy play area which you overlook from the restaurant terrace and our children excitedly joined in horse riding lessons or looked after the other animals on the farm. There is something really special about the laid back feel you get as an adult and the freedom children have to make friends and have lots of fun. Here is Laura with some handy tips on the cheapest times to travel and offers. We think it’s looking unlikely that P & O will have an early booking offer on the Hull to Rotterdam route but we’re keeping our eyes peeled. There is an offer on the French channel crossings. The early booking offer at Beekse Bergen is valid on bookings made at least 120 days in advance and Efteling has one on some dates (excludes most of the main holidays but currently includes the end of August and also the Efteling hotel for some of May half term.) If you’re wondering what the children’s farmhouses are like at Hof van Saksen have a look at the fab video review the Meredith family left us 👶🏻 😍 Hof van Saksen is a fantastic resort for all ages with indoor pools, rapids, waterslides, a large indoor play and trampolining centre, a lake beach, lots of play areas and many activities included in the price. It’s doable without a car from Amsterdam airport. A mid week stay from 27/5 in a 4 person children’s farmhouse costs €799 based on 2 adults and 2 children including local charges. 🦒 BEEKSE BERGEN LATEST DISCOUNT 🦒 We’ve just noticed that Beekse Bergen has an “up to 20% discount” on bookings made by 1st January. Here’s Laura with more info! The discount isn’t valid on all dates but includes our May half term, most of the Easter holidays (excluding the Easter weekend) and most dates from 19/8. Where it isn’t valid then the usual “up to 15%” early booking offer applies on bookings made at least 120 days in advance. Some accommodation types are excluded on some dates too. In May we were delighted to be invited to stay in the brand new Safari Hotel at Beekse Bergen. Our rooms had private verandas overlooking the African animals, the beds were super comfy and we loved the decor and all the little touches. We made this little video tour of the room.
