The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd has been named in a list of the "best Christmas activities" by travel experts.

The centre, situated in the Highlands, boasts Britain's only free-ranging herd of reindeer.There are currently around 150 animals in the herd.

Experts at Time Out said the experience is "particularly special" during October and November onwards, when there is fresh snow.

Aviemore Avalanche’s Moment of Glory

It’s a great read, capturing a historic moment in the return of ice hockey to Aviemore. Special mention to Kenny MacDonald, scoring a wonder goal at 70 years old.

Here at Aviemore and Glenmore Community Trust (AGCT) we are incredibly proud of all we’ve achieved together with the Aviemore Ice Rink, bringing ice sports back to the village after nearly 20 years. This success would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the community, local businesses, and grant funders.

Looking ahead, securing Glenmore is vital for building AGCT's capacity, helping the trust to acheive its wider goals, including developing the ice rink and other community projects.
