Chesil Beach in Dorset is spectacular. It is 18 miles long and stretches from Portland to Westbay. It is considered one of the finest examples of a barrier beach anywhere in the world. It forms a barrier between the mainland and the fleet lagoon.
Today the sea was rough with a deep shelf causing huge rolling waves. In the summer months it can be dead calm, crystal clear and idyllic.
Really worth a visit next time you come to stay.

Our Location! Just wanted to show you exactly where Castlebury Barn is located and what this wonderful area has to offer.
So, we are in East Devon, in the heart of the Blackdown Hills in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We are also on the border with West Dorset. We have the very best of these two counties right on our doorstep.
Castlebury Barn is set in a peaceful, rural location with amazing views. We have the awesome Jurassic Coast just 20 mins away so whether it’s the South West Coastal path the beautiful towns of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Charmouth, Branscombe or Beer you fancy visiting or the beautiful dog friendly beaches, it’s all here!

We are so lucky to have right on our doorstep. Fresh fish caught in Lyme Bay from their own boat. They are based at and have a large range of fresh fish available, including fresh lobsters and crab 🦀.
They can also make a shellfish platter to order for our guests so call in next time you are here!

It’s British flower week and the flowers displayed in the barn are grown just a couple of miles away from . Charlotte grows them in her garden without the use of pesticides.. seasonal, natural, local and beautiful!
