Free Children's Outdoor Fun Event in Ayr Today

Families looking for a fun and engaging outdoor activity for their children today are in luck. Local outdoor play enthusiasts, UnderSky, are hosting a free event filled with active games inspired by Scottish wildlife, perfect for primary-aged children.

The event promises an array of activities, including running, balancing, jumping, catching, and imitating the flight skills of various Scottish animals. This unique play session aims to both entertain and educate children about the amazing abilities of local wildlife.

Adventure Carrick will also be present, bringing along a climbing wall and additional outdoor activities, subject to weather conditions.

Starting from tomorrow (Wednesday, 10 July), a temporary timetable will be implemented by ScotRail to provide certainty and reliability for customers.

Following a pay dispute, fewer train drivers than usual are available for overtime or rest day work, which is their contractual right.

The temporary timetable will mean fewer last-minute cancellations. ScotRail apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.

SEPAs bathing water signage has been updated - this will remain in place until the water quality returns to a satisfactory level.

UPDATE: Please note we have been advised that tests for Maidens came back fine and that it’s being removed from the list, this post & image was provided by SEPA**

In an update SEPA said:

Further water samples have been taken and SEPA officers have attended the site to investigate if the incident is ongoing.

Update - After further samples, advice against bathing for Maidens is now removed.
