Finally we are open again

As if things haven't been hard enough managing a holiday let, during the last few years! In December, the plumbing in our holiday cottage in Bakewell decided to give us a further surprise! 😭😭

When I say December I mean Christmas Eve at 10:45pm! 😩 What had started as a leak from the header tank eventually become a flood of water coming through the bedroom ceiling. It resulted in the bedroom ceiling collapsing completely, during Christmas Day. We were blessed with really understanding guests, who we really cannot thank enough .

💕Anyway 2 months on and everything is repaired, plastered, painted and replaced and we are open again for business.💕

We are really pleased with the work that has been done and again like to thank the people around us, workmen and friends and family who have helped out.

So that was another Christmas we won't forget in a hurry. Affectionately known as the year that Santa missed the chimney! Hopefully 2022 will be kind to us and we are looking forward to a full year of people enjoying our holiday cottage in Bakewell.

Bakewell Holiday Cottage is a cottage to rent in Bakewell Derbyshire, and is a perfect place for couples to stay, for a cosy holiday in a stone built cottage which is over 220 years old. You are located very close to the centre of Bakewell but on a quiet lane, within the conservation area. It ticks all the boxes for a great holiday – a log burner, a number of pubs and bars within 1 minutes walk, a short drive to Chatsworth House and walking distance to the Monsall trail.

The let is currently achieving ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for cleanliness and obviously it's important that we continue to achieve this. The holiday cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 king sized and 1 single) and is already fully booked into November. We are looking for a person that is trustworthy and has high standards of cleanliness.

Turnaround day is normally Friday. You will be required for 3 hours cleaning and also the washing and ironing of the linen. (so probably around 4 to 5 hours per week) There will also be occasional Sundays turnarounds too.

🖊Pleasantly surprised by the central location of this cottage - we were expecting a longer walk to get into Bakewell but everything was on our doorstep.

🖊The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The beds were super comfortable and all the bedding of great quality. We would highly recommend the cottage. It is close to the centre of Bakewell. I would happily stay here again.

🖊There was everything we needed. So clean and tidy, Beds were extremely comfortable and luxurious. We definitely could have stayed longer. Definatly be coming back - a little gem.

Perfect for couples, this cottage is very cosy and will provide a wonderful base while visiting this picturesque Derbyshire Peak District. Just a short stroll from Bakewell's many shops, cafes, & restaurants.

When we planted our flowers outside our Holiday Cottage in Bakewell in 2020, we really didn't know what lay ahead. Buying a holiday let and completing at the beginning of a lockdown was a worrying time all round. 🌹🌺🌹🌺

12 months on and our flowers have bloomed along with our holiday let. We were delighted to accept our first guests on 12th April and we've been fully booked since.

This holiday cottage in Bakewell is all about location. You are just steps away from the centre of Bakewell and after a day of being out and about in the Peak District you have plenty of places to choose from, to eat and drink. (The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell, Joiners Arms Bakewell - our favourites)

And thankfully just few steps back to the comfort of the cottage.

Our first available week for a staycation in the holiday cottage is 15th October. .
