This traditional pet friendly stone built stable has been converted to a lovely, roomy, two-bedroom cottage. The thick stone walls provide a protective shell, that is punctuated by large sash windows. The deep recessed window seats have great views over open Teesdale, sheep grazed, meadows. Inside, the cottage has been decorated to a high standard with exposed beams and comfortable, cottage style,
furniture. The bright entrance hall has a fold down dining table that can comfortably sit 6 people. But with the dining table folded down the double height space can be used as a quiet, airy, reading area; or as a room to ‘boot up’ for walks in the surrounding countryside. On returning from your countryside adventure the large, tiled entrance hall is ideal for your walking gear, cycles, or dogs. The kitchen is fully equipped with kettle, cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils that mean you can cook for yourselves (although there are great places to eat nearby). The kitchen also has a 4-seater kitchen table great for watching the world go by whilst having lunch or afternoon tea. Through the large archway is the living room with a sofa and two armchairs – a cosy area to watch the large TV or play some of the board games provided. Also, downstairs is the bathroom that houses the toilet, a bath and a large walk-in power shower. The bathroom airing cupboard contains the vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a double bed. Both rooms have a wardrobe, dressing table, mirrors and 2 bedside cabinets and reading lamps. The first bedroom has a padded rocking chair and footstool which provides a relaxing place to read and watch the wildlife (such as deer, rabbits, hedgehogs, foxes, badgers, owls, and many other birds) in the fields opposite. The master bedroom has a gas fire and two large cosy armchairs as well as a large chest of drawers for extra storage. A hairdryer is provided. On request, we can set up a travel cot or single bed in either bedroom. Outside there is a patio garden, with small flower beds that contain fresh herbs for use by the guests. The garden gets the sun in the morning and late afternoon and has a garden table and chairs. On request there is a BBQ is available. Free Wifi is available throughout the cottage. There is ample car parking space.
