We have three 4 star, self-catering cottages sympathetically converted from a Victorian stone barn and overlooking a large grassed courtyard.

Voley Farm Holiday Cottages are set in 47 acres of farmland and ancient woodland, 2 miles from the beautiful village of Parracombe and only three miles from the sea at Heddon’s Mouth. They are perfect for short breaks or longer stays, from just 2 people to a large group. Occasional farmhouse bed and breakfast is available on request. Two cottages have three bedrooms and the third has two bedrooms;

they have all been refurbished this year. Outside of the school holidays peak season we are happy to consider letting for short breaks and to discuss special rates for couples. Dogs are accepted in two of the three cottages. The farm is only a short car ride from the stunning North Devon Coast, the dramatic South-West Coast Path; the impressive surf beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough and Croyde are 30 minutes away. Ilfracombe, Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth are all no more than 15 minutes away. There is an enormous range of holiday activities for all ages and tastes, and footpaths lead from the farm to the moors and to the sea. We share our home with foxes, badgers, deer, buzzards, bats, swallows and too many other birds to list; we are sited in a hidden valley at the end of a private unmade lane, which means children are safe and unbothered by traffic. Our animals are delightful and love our visitors - Effie the Chicken with Attitude insists she is the star of our show. We have a safe, fenced play area for smaller children, and a large games room equipped with table tennis, childrens billiards, croquet, badminton, skittles and many more games. The farm is in a perfect position for those seeking a quiet, relaxing break or one packed with leisure activities.

What a lovely day. Quick trip to Woolacombe to visit our, now former, landlady in her fabulous new home. Then our darling newbie Lenny had his first beach trip. One exhausted pup and an amazing sunset. Is summer coming????

Happy Easter to everyone. To my astonishment I managed to pick all of these, apart from the iris and the rose, in the Voley garden. We’re babysitting a 9 month old Labrador so not at all sure how long the display will last!

We’ve been a bit quiet of late. Hot, happy and busy. One plus side to a drought. Lots of ripe figs for the first time, happy hydrangeas, and a vegetable garden given over to the butterflies and buzzy things. There really is only so much cabbage two can eat x

Lesson learned. Don’t spend a fortune every year on allium bulbs for the squirrels to nick. Just forget a few old leeks (I think). They‘re beautiful and have been for ages.

If you’re in the area this is a must. Always brilliant especially because of the setting in The Valley of Rocks. Watch it at sunset with the background of the sea and South Wales. Very special.

Has it snowed? I had a breathtaking moment this morning in the orchard. The blossom on that hawthorn is amazing. A lovely sight before changeover cleaning started.

Had to be done. Only April but the first beach curry of the year. So good to feel vaguely normal, if distanced. Barricane Beach, Woolacombe If everything stays good you might all get to go.
