We love to kick back and relax in our beautiful and cozy living room after a long day enjoying the adventures of North Devon. Whether it’s walking, surfing, shopping or eating out it’s lovely to relax and recharge at Goodleigh Cottage.

The rugged beauty and breathtaking scenery of North Devon are what makes it such a great place to spend time with family and friends.

This is the view of the Heddon Valley, a stunning walk along the banks of the river Heddon, past the Hunters Inn and onto the beach at Heddon’s Mouth.

On the way up to Lynton on the Cliff Railway you really get some fantastic views of Lynmouth!

Such a great place to visit ☺ I'd love to know where is everyone's favourite place for a cream tea there??

Although our cottage is firmly in North Devon, we are really very close to beautiful Exmoor National Park. We took a lovely drive out to Lynton and on to Porlock and the scenery was breathtaking!!

All of Lucy's wonderful pictures over at definitely inspired the trip, I was waiting for a big ol deer to jump out across the our path 😀

The amazing church bell ringers were having a practice night in the village so we took a stroll down the lane to listen.. such a unique sound!!

And a picture of the church surrounded by moon light just looks incredible 🌙

Dog walks whatever the weather... but made better when you have lovely Coombe Woods on the dootstep. I'm looking forward to spotting some of the Roe Deer that roam this area too!

Some lovely late summer sunshine in Devon recently for our guests 😊

Lynmouth Harbour is so pretty, and the walk from Lynmouth through the Watersmeet Gorge along the exuberant East Lyn River is an absolute walker’s delight.

The yellow building is the village pub, The New Inn - they do amazing food and quite often get the No. 1 spot for best place to eat in North Devon on trip advisor. Just another reason to stay at Goodleigh Cottage!

Tarr Steps in Dulverton, Exmoor - our location is perfect for all the best bits of Devon but also we are very close to Exmoor National Park and the amazing places to visit there.

This is Tarr Steps, an ancient clapper bridge between Simonsbath and Dulverton. You can have a lovely circular walk from the National Park car park across the bridge and along the river Barle before a stop at the Tarr Farm Inn for a cream tea ☕

Summer is in full swing in Goodleigh and the farmers are cutting the fields to leave beautiful wavy lines all over the view form our terrace. Apparently a deer was spotted roaming through the field! That’s why we have a pair of binoculars on stand by at all times!

If you take a trip to Clovelly, and you definitely should, walk along the beach past the life boat station and you'll find this beach waterfall!

There is a cave behind where legend tells that Merlin, the Arthurian magician, was born 🧙‍♂️

Getting ready for a big breakfast at our new dining table 💛

We looked at so many but this was our favourite, a unique handmade reclaimed wood table from , and it fits perfectly in our cottage!

Seats eight people so plenty of room for guests. Still a few weeks in the summer available on our website if you haven't booked up yet.

Happy Devon Day 💚

We love Devon and trying to find a picture of our favourite spot to celebrate was impossible, there are so many! So I'm posting a picture from Saunton beach, where we headed down to watch the sunset on the day we picked up the keys to Goodleigh Cottage. A pretty special day for us in Devon!

We can't leave out little doggo - she loves the beaches in Devon 🐕

Woolacombe beach, 3 miles of sand and great surf. Plenty of surf hire shops, places to eat and importantly parking!
