It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to this wonderful man…
We wanted to pay tribute to a man who whole heartedly dedicated his life to his work. Jim was without a doubt one of a kind, and will be sorely missed by all of us at work and many more who worked with him over the years. He was kind, caring and compassionate in his approach to life and work. He had the sharpest mind, and quickest wit which was evident to anyone who discussed a complex drawing with him or asked for help with setting out templates. Jim could solve the trickiest calculation in his head and would know how to make the most from a sheet of metal with as little waste as possible. He hoarded every bit of scrap going!!!
He was quite simply the best sheet metal worker in the whole of Sussex. His diligent approach to work lasted for decades, until just weeks before his passing. At 86 he was still coming into work, spanning a career of nearly 70 years. We honour this kind, gentle man and will miss him greatly. His dry humour and his morning ‘how-dos’ will forever stay with us. Jim it has been an absolute pleasure to know you for so many years 🤍
