This week I celebrated seven years of being a Travel Counsellor. My anniversary date actually passed me by because of home life; 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ever had one those weeks where everything breaks?! I mean even the dog broke briefly (he’s fine now and on the mend) ❤️‍🩹 but after a rubbish week, having the team at Travel Counsellors remind me that what I’ve achieved in these seven years has been amazing. I love being my own boss. I am incredibly lucky to have the support of my wonderful clients, who book time and time again. I still love helping you all travel the Globe 🌍

Nearly 12 years ago we made this decision. If we were doing it again this year, it would be exactly the same.

The ‘big’ UK wedding wasn’t for us. The stress, the cost (it’s outrageous)…the list goes on. Sometimes, less is more & we definitely had this. We were so grateful to our friends and family that joined us for our wedding abroad - I mean there were 20 including us (& 8 of those were my family 🥰)
It’s not that I didn’t want to have more family & friends with us, I did, but in the greatest respect to ourselves, we kept it about us.

I’ve recently booked an amazing trip to Japan for a couple who decided it would be their honeymoon. They booked this first then worked backwards after understanding the cost of the honeymoon and have opted for a very low key, local wedding.

Every couple is different and what suits one, may not be for another. However you get married, it’s about the vows you made to each other and the happiness your day and lifetime brings you.

Sadly, our trip to Iceland came to an end. We had an absolute blast. For our final full day adventure, we had a private tour in a Super Jeep , visiting the main sights of The Golden Circle. It consists of three equally stunning locations in southwest Iceland: Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss waterfall. These sites are renowned across the world and are as spectacular as they are unique.

We then headed to Friðheimar, where they grow tomatoes all year round, despite Iceland’s long, dark winters, under artificial lighting in greenhouses. The tomato beer was pretty good 😊

There is so much to see and do in Iceland, all year round, it’s a destination that should be on everyone’s bucket list! I’ve definitely ticked a few things off my list this weekend! 💖 until the next adventure 👋🏼

This weekend I am hosting an organised client trip in Iceland! And what a start we’ve had.

Since our arrival on Friday, we have explored the city of Reykjavik taking in many of the cities hotspots and a little shopping. Sampled some of local dishes with an amazing food walking tour and enjoyed a glass or two of the local beer.

Friday evening we headed out in search for the Northern Lights on a Cruise and W.O.W we were extremely lucky to have the Sky putting on a fantastic show for us. It was incredible & definitely one bucket list activity ticked off.

After all the excitement a trip to the famous Blue Lagoon was exactly what the dr ordered, complete relaxation - utter bliss.

Today we’re off out in a tour of the Arctic Circle, a trip to a tomato farm and then for some extra relaxation at the Secret Lagoon.

Christmas was quiet for us this year, but still managed to meet up with family & friends to celebrate. Absolutely incredible evening yesterday at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to see the Athletics.

What a stadium.
What an atmosphere.
What phenomenal athletes.

To witness & hear the stadium roar on the Mens 200m final with a sub 20 was something special.

Then to see Guernsey win their first medal of the games 👏🏻

It was an all round fabulous evening!

More tonight with the T20 cricket 🏏 not sure I’m ready for the games to finish, it’s been great to have this on our doorstep.

Birmingham you’ve done brilliantly! 🙌🏼

🚗 ELECTRIC CARS IN BERMUDA 🚗

Instead of conventional rental cars, Bermuda offers a fun and eco-friendly fleet of two-seater electric vehicles. These compact and safe electric rental cars allow you to explore the whole island, in style and at your own pace (it only takes about an hour to drive from end to end).

One option is the two-seat Twizy, available at locations including the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. Twizy stands for “twin” and “easy.” It's designed by Renault’s Formula One racing team and can travel up to 50 miles on a single charge – and now they have Wi-Fi. The fleet of electric cars are available on a first-come, first-served basis; visitors must be 18 years and older with a valid driver’s license.

🎊 An air of excitement over here in Birmingham today. With the commonwealths kicking off with a fun opening ceremony and of course a superb Red Arrows flyovers.

We have been very lucky to get tickets for a few events, although there is so much going on in and around Birmingham it’s going to be hard to choose.

Hi everyone 👋🏼 I’m still here working away in the backgorund, rearranging more trips for March 2021 that were moved from 2020. Never did I think we would still be in the same position a year later 🤦🏻‍♀️ But, we fight on 💪🏼 The new routines have well and truly kicked in, the winter blues are most definitely still around & lockdown isn’t bothering me, especially when it’s so cold outside - hibernation at it’s finest right now! 😂 I cannot wait for Spring 💐 We have finished all the big works in the house and so we are just waiting for the nicer weather so we can start Project: Garden 🪴 I also cannot wait for the day that we can go stay somewhere different! A change of scenery is definitely needed. A beach would be wonderful 🏝 , a spa day would be incredible 🧖‍♀️ , I’d even settle for a tent in my parents back garden ⛺️ - it’s a south facing garden, right?!? 😆 For now though, I’m grateful we are safe and secure in our homes. I will continue to make plans for this year, with the hope that they can go ahead, and I will carry on walking the dog, come rain, shine or snow 😂 If only we could all be a bit more like Mumford ... 😉😂🙄🙈 Stay safe everyone 💕
