Michael’s Plaice (formally Shorrock Lane Chippy) – Probably the oldest and original traditional chip shop in the area.

Established in 1903 by J. Hodson and run by Michael since 2017.

Michael prides himself on traditional English Fare. Offering everything from the original Fish & Chips, through ranges of locally independent baked pies, quality sausages, and other favourite classics like peas, Gravy and our popular Curry (No bits in it – Which is often asked !) and the staple of every good Blackburn Chippy a “John Bull”.

Michael is new to the industry and has learnt how to make a John Bull with his own unique recipe which has taken sometime to perfect.
