Another announcement - our beautiful Daisy who is now 9 years old has given birth to a healthy bull calf who looks just like her mum did. Always a heart warming sight and they both got quite a show of the northern lights last night as they grazed in the field right by holly and willow lodge. If you are staying, or coming to stay, pop up and say hi before they come to our field by our house to their last stop before they come in for winter. It’s bittersweet as we sadly lost my dearly beloved cow Heffalump who many of you will know so I have added a pic of her when I first got her all those years ago.
Heffalump had a problem with her ovary that couldn’t be fixed by the vets after trying many options. Within a day of me losing Heffalump, Daisy’s calf arrived. Not the same but she waited so that her best friend wasn’t left alone xx
Thankyou again Dave for these pictures of Daisy and her handsome young calf.
Nice job on painting dippy Annie! we think that he looks very pleased with his colour makeover! Speak to myself or Jill if you want to come and meet him and give him a brush and a hug xx
Hi everyone! I have many posts of day trips to put up soon BUT firstly I’ve got to put up this!!
Our lovely neighbours from Harbour Brewery are doing a bbq and the tap room is open at the brewery next door!!! It starts at midday and they are having a smokery cook off with several teams!
No need to book and it starts at midday until 10pm so if you arrive early or are not sure what to do on arrival day then look no further! A super treat and try some local beers, aswell as wines etc and right in our doorstep! Walking distance so no worries about having a drink.
See you there!!
Max making his first ever bale with richy! 🌞👏❤️
I’m really missing having this year away from our team of cleaners and only getting a few busy changeover weeks to get our cabins all ready for you all as Max is Two now and super speedy for most to handle 🙈🙈 BUT…
On a good note Max and I are getting the chance to try out so many attractions that Cornwall has to offer!! Todays visit was Springfield Fun Park!! So here is our report:
This is a good one if you have children up to around 10 years old and for the whole family. the indoor area is a mix of slides, bigger soft play, UV lit up children’s enchantment woods for the little ones, pony rides- again not for older ones as it’s either a short trip around the paddock or a lovely little trip around the woods. There is a little tractor trail but only around the site so not long- good for toddlers. Max loved the boating lake as did myself, holly and my mum. You can feed the fish and there are hundreds of carp in there!!!
There is a good mix of fairground rides included in the price with dodgems, the horse carousel, for little ones three separate car rides, a ghost train ride and a moving tunnel which is hilarious. A huge slide and a helter-skelter. There are a couple of sheds of Guinea pigs and donkeys etc again it’s well loved and laid back. A few outdoor play areas, emus, alpacas etc.
We found that the staff were helpful and left you too it to explore. Lots of picnic areas or a full cafe.
It is worth a day out if the weather is good as a lot is outside.
Max defo approves lol.
We are so proud of our beautiful daughter holly who as head girl made this incredible speech to her year group in leavers day.
To any of you who have children leaving school and going through covid in those crucial years this is a great speech for them to listen too xx enjoy!
It’s a heatwave!!! Perfect for a bbq or a beach day or just enjoying the countryside looking at its best with a good book xx
If you are staying with us this week you will notice the tractors out and about. It’s silage time here at the farm with the good weather. A team of three tractors- one picking up grass (cut that day as it’s so warm!), the second tractor transporting the grass back to the farm after collecting from the forager and finally Richard puts the grass in the clamp and flattens it with his trusty tractor. Max at 15 months is learning the ropes and had his first go on the buck-rake putting the grass away!
Enjoy the sunshine y’all!!
Millie moo doing her best impression as a rodeo calf!
A video of the happy couple enjoying a romantic swim in the hot tub ❤️❤️
We have just put out some of the calves in our nursery field xx it’s next to the farm so we can keep an eye on them xx the older two black ones are called Galloway’s and are MEANT to be teaching the young calves to be sensible in the big field. Judging by the Galloway’s playing in the dirt they may have shunned their duties! Lol!!
