Happy New Year everyone. A bit late but we have a super expression in Cornwall to get us out of a jam like that, it’s called Dreckly. This super little loophole means we will get to it soon rather than directly and has saved me many a time! It matches the pace of life down here and if you chat to any local - expect it lol.

We had a quiet Christmas here and Jill had the opportunity to go upcountry and visit her daughter and their family to see in the new year and our daughter Holly was in Sweden and was our first Christmas apart. She got to see the northern lights many times and experience husky sledging amongst other super experienced out on a ranch. Rich, Max and I have stayed here and had lots of time together up the farm and here at home.

We are looking forward this year and as always have plans to improve and look forward to sharing those with you as they happen.

In the meantime, stay warm and well with this cold snap and anyone who has stayed has seen how warm and cosy the cabins are in the elements that they were built for!

Anyone down between now and new year there are some wonderful festive places to visit.

If you love a garden centre then Homeleigh Garden centre in Launceston is super! A nice cafe and a brilliant aquatic centre and so many pretty lights it’s worth a stop and only a few miles from there is Lifton Farm shop and you will not be dissapointed!
Closer to home is Duchy Nurseries part of the Duchy estate. It can be a little pricey on gifts but lovely quality and unique ideas if you are stuck!

For a winter walk then Lanhydrock estate is free to explore the parkland and the cafe is open all year. More acres than you can walk in a day it’s beautiful.

Rougue Theatre has its slightly pagan approach to Christmas with a large tent in tehidy woods it sells out fast and is magical for all ages.

The Eden Project is a showstopper at Christmas and we visit at least twice during the Christmas period. In the Mediterranean biome they have live music and festive drinks mulled wine and a super light show in the hotter jungle style biome. They also have the ice rink, seperate bookings for meeting Father Christmas and a tonne of workshops so look them up and booking is essential.

Heligan has a festival of lights that we will be visiting this year so will let you know if it is worth the hype as it has great reviews.

Mosehole lights if you are looking for a free day out. There are lights across the whole harbour and the pubs have open fires and look like you have stepped back in time.

Some happy news- we have a new addition to the Tregullon clan…. Meet Bluebell the baby calf.
You will see her next season and she loves attention so please do say hi.

We also have Lily the Lhasa apso who has been with us for two months now and is settling in lovely xx

A massive thank you to all of you who braved the weather and travelled from near and far (including Scotland) to attend David's funeral on Friday. Thank you also for all of your messages, cards and donations to the Cornwall Air Ambulance. It was a wonderful celebration of a good life and he left Tregullon for the final time in one of his favourite vehicles.

DAVID ROY MAY
On 22nd October 2024, peacefully with his family by his side, after a short illness, David aged 64 of Tregullon Farm. Much loved husband of Jill, devoted dad to Richard & Trudy and Vicki & Ed and dearest and very proud grandpa of Holly, Max, Annie and Arthur. He was very much loved by all of the Schiemann and May families and his many friends. A celebration of David's life will be held at Lanivet Parish Church on Friday 22nd November at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only, donations, if wished, for Cornwall Air Ambulance can be made online via the Memory Giving website, by retiring collection or sent c/o R. As we come to the end of another season we have to say a massive thank you to our amazing Saturday "girls". they have worked hard and to a very high standard all year, whilst all the time, getting on, sharing problems and having a laugh. This has never been more evident than in the last few weeks when Richard has been out of action following an operation & David was in hospital. Everyone stepped up and Trudy & Jill are so grateful to Shirley, Louise, Shelley, Freya, Holly, Abi & Casey. Unfortunately several of our team have lost family members & a beloved canine companion in the last couple of months and yet they turned up for work and still supported us. We really hope that they will all come back next year and that we will all have a happier year.

Also thank you to all of our lovely visitors who come back and supported our family business, in a year when visitor figures are considerably down, we are very grateful that you choose to return, you make the hard work worthwhile and we look on you as family friends.

I thought that our lovely visitor Dave's photo summed up how we all feel at the moment - we look forward to seeing you all again in 2025 (if not before).

Sorry but a very sad post. Our beloved David passed away peacefully on 22nd October after a very short illness.
Many of you will have had a chat as he carried bags of laundry around or went about his farming life.
He absolutely loved Tregullon and was lucky enough to have lived here for his entire life – he was thrilled that so many of you loved it here too and that you appreciated the beauty and tranquillity of the place that he was lucky enough to be custodian of & to call home.
Tregullon became the place it is today through many generations of the family’s hard work with David & Jill running a dairy and beef herd before diversifying to include Tregullon Holidays 20 years ago with son Richard who is the fifth generation to farm here.
Please don’t be sad but celebrate a happy, productive life, well lived.

A final post showcasing Dave’s camera skills of Lanhydrock house our home from home and where I worked for nearly 10 years in the gatehouse. These black and white images look like years gone by waiting for a horse and carriage to pass by. Treyarnon bay showing off the power of Mother Nature once again on a dry windy day and some calm sunny autumn pics from here at Tregullon Farm. There’s plenty of rainbows around to be seen atm we are really getting all seasons in a week now. Be on the look out for conkers, hedgehogs everywhere, and by night when the northern lights are not dancing then the stars are the best you will see them all year with clear skies and no light pollution. We had our first frost this morning too followed by beautiful sunshine today so get out and enjoy this breathtaking weather everyone ❤️❤️

Another announcement - our beautiful Daisy who is now 9 years old has given birth to a healthy bull calf who looks just like her mum did. Always a heart warming sight and they both got quite a show of the northern lights last night as they grazed in the field right by holly and willow lodge. If you are staying, or coming to stay, pop up and say hi before they come to our field by our house to their last stop before they come in for winter. It’s bittersweet as we sadly lost my dearly beloved cow Heffalump who many of you will know so I have added a pic of her when I first got her all those years ago.
Heffalump had a problem with her o***y that couldn’t be fixed by the vets after trying many options. Within a day of me losing Heffalump, Daisy’s calf arrived. Not the same but she waited so that her best friend wasn’t left alone xx

Sorry that we haven’t been very active on here lately but I’m about to make up for it with the help of our wonderful visitor Dave! Dave and Sarah are part of our Tregullon family which so many of you are ❤️ supporting us for years and I love when we get sent images from our very home that we have never seen before - like these stunning images from holly lodge last night right over the farm!!! natures beauty putting on a real show for us all in the early hours with the northern lights dancing in the skies and reminding us that magic and mystery can find us everywhere at any time when we least expect it xx Thankyou for these Dave!

We are excited to announce that we will be having an open evening on Friday 19th July from 6pm, we would love for you to celebrate with us. Glass of bubbly and a slice of cake on arrival.

Good Morning everyone!!

It’s set to be 24 degrees today and endless blue skies so get your bbq food ready and the suncream out it’s a perfect beach day or bbq weather!
We hope that it’s as gorgeous where you all are in the country.

If you are still thinking about a last minute break here then we have a Saturday to Saturday week available in two of our lodges - Maple lodge and hazel lodge.

Hazel is £745 and is a two bed one bathroom
Maple is £775 and is a three bed two bathroom.

The dates are: arrive Saturday 13th from 3:30pm to check out at 10am Saturday 20th ☀️ 🌊 🍹

All of our lodges have built in bbqs and area real home from home with so many nice little extras including a cream tea on arrival and we get you started with tea, coffee, washing tabs, all of our lodges have dishwashers so no slaving over dishes and we provide plenty of towels, high hairs and travel cots if needed (just let us know)

So pack your bags and come and join us!

July 13th is also liskeard agricultural show held at the merrymeet nr liskeard so if you arrive super early or if you are already booked - you can start your day seeing animals, craft tents, food stalls, rides and an ice cream.

Also come and say hi to our four legged friends during the summer holidays we will be here for pony grooming days and times to follow so watch this space!!
