Always grateful for giving you lot the opportunity to experience these things.

By no means, no matter what anyone says, is the desert an easy place to endure. Conditions out here are tough, the dust level is huge right now and we experienced a high of 47’c and some cars started to suffer.

Lake Iriki is always a great experience, a mixture of rocks, washboard gravel and desert sand. Everything we came for. But the trip is only just beginning!

Setup in Marrakesh for a few days whilst waiting on some parts from the UK.

Really chuffed with the setup and gear I’ve chosen. Near enough there now bar a decent 12v setup.

We’ve got a Navara needing front wheel bearings and a D1 needing a clutch space cylinder which we’ve managed to source here!

Time to chill after a good run down before we head for the Sahara!🏜️

Another weekend over at Marquenterre🇫🇷

Awesome group with a nice mixture of vehicles, the weather was absolutely perfect for us too!

Took a risk with taking his triple locked M57 powered D1 after his extensive rebuild since the troubles in Morocco last year but with only 20 days until we leave again it needed a test!

It performed amazingly with absolutely zero issues bar some teething problems he can fettle with in the meantime. For a self built engine swapped Frankenstein thing, I’ve got to give him credit for how it’s finally turning out!

Ready for Nordkapp!!🇳🇴

Super proud of these guys for pushing through and sticking with me all the way to the top! What a journey it’s been and covering just over 2,600 miles so far! We’ve pushed through storms we probably shouldn’t have, overcome incidents we didn’t expect and formed the best team together to motivate each other to keep going.

Although we’re only at the base camp, there’s still 9 miles up to Nordkapp to go tomorrow but that’s always the risk of coming this far - let’s hoping the roads open!🤞

The trips far from over yet, but what a goal. Here’s to the guys and being hopeful for tomorrow! Either way, we’ve still got a heck of a journey home to go yet so keep following the journey!❤️

After good progress today, we pushed on into the night however a storm came in quick and fast.

We pushed through it slowly for a time until we ended up elevating higher through the pass where it got really bad and became unsafe. At the top I found a lady who’d crashed her car and was quite shaken up so made the decision that we had to recover her and wouldn’t be coming down the mountain without her.

It took two of us with winches to get her car back on the road before crawling down the mountain to find shelter from this. We dived into a local services here to hide away and they’ve allowed us to camp behind in hope it’ll protect us as much as possible however the wind is due to pick up even more throughout the night.

We should hopefully reach Nordkapp by Wednesday depending on the weather, fingers crossed🤞

Our introduction to the Lofoten Islands was interesting to say the least!😂

A good amount of weather in last night meant plenty of fresh powder on the roads, the main roads being gritted were confidence filling and we could keep a decent pace however the smaller roads meant ice under the fresh powder and certainly took more concentration.

First off the road was Simon in the 4x4 Sprinter, this narrow back road means locals try and dominate you and getting too close to the edge means there’s only one way to do, down!

A quick recovery meant back on the road within half an hour and no damage done. Within a mile from that however I experienced the same thing, a crazy local coming at me in the middle of the road meaning it was him or the ditch as I wasn’t stopping!

Much deeper and steeper this time meant recovery was difficult and took a lot longer however we managed in the edge using some sn**ch blocks and two winches!

However, later than day we stopped for some much needed food and found out I made the local news!😂 Over here, members of the public get vouchers for things in return for reporting things so I had no chance of hiding it!😂

These things happen, I bet most guides wouldn’t allow photos of even mention this, but it’s the reality of how quick these things can happen and to anyone no matter the experience. No one was hurt, minimal damage done and memories made, that’s exactly what it’s all about!

Spending tonight replanning routes and enjoying a beer and the northern lights show over the town! Lets hope this hasn’t affected our schedule to make it to Nordkapp🤞

Arctic Circle and beyond🥶

Great progress today passing up through the Arctic Circle, all vehicles running well. Roads are starting to get worse so progress will start to slow down a little.

We got the ferry and crossed over to the south Lofoten Islands this afternoon, parted again with the defenders as this will be as far north as they want to travel, this gives them more time for sit at a comfortable pace back down south as we push further to Nordkapp.

Now sitting down for a well deserved meal together, weathers coming in so camping may be eventful tonight! Snow has started falling and seems to be in for the night. Tomorrow will be exciting!

Day 4 in Norway and we’ve finally got sights of the Northern Lights🔮

As we voyage further and further north, we’re not far from the Arctic circle now. Jamie is our Aurora expert on this trip and he’s been tracking it all and finally we got the first sights of it tonight.

Tomorrow we’ll be reunited as a full group as we cross over to the Lofoten Islands to explore the beauty they behold!
