With a growing number of fabulous golf courses to choose from and an ever increasing selection of luxurious hotels and resorts to cater for their visitors, it’s no surprise that golf holidays and short golfing breaks in Italy are rising rapidly. Whether it’s the northern areas around Milan and the golfing hotspots of Emilia Romagna, the central regions of Lazio (Rome) or Tuscany (Florence & Pisa)
or the southern backdrop of Sicily or Puglia, golf in Italy is just like it’s food & heritage... to be savoured. Northern Italy presently has the greatest number of courses. Historically this is because of the greater rainfall in the north and the spectacular terrains that the Northern more mountainous regions provide. But Italian golfing entrepreneurs in the Central & Southern regions are certainly catching up fast. Our opinion is that golfing in Italy is fabulously unique in that it offers some of the most modern and superbly designed courses in Europe and also provides the opportunity to visit some of the best cultural centres, art cities and world famous heritage sites found anywhere else on the planet. UNLIKE Spain and the other ‘stag night’ hotspots of Europe, Italy has thankfully retained a feeling of well being and the ability to offer its visitors a relaxed, elegant and welcoming experience.
