It’s all about the holes.

Our pieces are made at home in our little riverside studio. We make these pieces between us and enjoy being creative together. Every piece is unique and we are guided by the stones natural contours. The colour, in this case gold, is added by gilding an area with metal leaf gilding.

Holes through stones are traditionally believed to be portals through which we can draw or repel energy; good fortune and good wishes will find you through the hole and bad luck and evil thoughts are believed to be too big to be able to pass through. We’d like to think with our little contemporary twist and decoration our stones with holes will bring lots of joy wherever they are displayed.

We're so pleased with some of the new pieces that we're creating. I thought I'd share this one first, I think it's simply gorgeous. Made from local spalted beech its natural beauty shines through. I can't take credit for this one, this mine is a pure Martin creation
