Christmas at Doddington Hall.

The perfect place to get you into the festive spirit, lots of lovely things to buy, eat and see.

You can visit the hall which is decorated for Christmas and the beautiful gardens are just what you need to take a step out of the hustle and bustle for a moment to breathe.

We visited the Cathedral to see the Peace Doves which is a mass-participation artwork created by sculptor, Peter Walker.

Over the summer 12000 people wrote messages of peace, love and hope onto the paper doves which are now all suspended in the air.

It was my first visit to this huge Cathedral and we were really lucky to have timed it just right to join a guided tour, we learnt some of the history, lots of interesting facts as well as all the little hidden meanings that are all around the Cathedral that you wouldn't normally notice.

We also found the famous 'Lincoln Imp'.

From start to finish, the raised herb garden and shaded eating area completed this summer.

The raised planters were given a new lease of life with a lick of paint, a new pergola was installed along with a corten steel edging to hold back the gravel.

Herbs were planted in the raised planters and wisteria on the pergola, we’re definitely looking forward to sitting here next summer with a nice G&T 🍋

A unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of Holkham Hall yesterday with a tour of the kitchens and cellars.

It was a chance to see how the below stairs staff ran the Hall through the ages.

Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take photos in the cellars but I took some of the kitchen.

How lovely are those copper pans 😍
