Essential sewer work

The path that acts as a cut through between Market Street and The Peel Centre will be restricted due to essential sewer work from 1 August.

The path will remain open for most of the work but with width restrictions in place. However, it will be completely closed from Monday 14 to Friday 18 August (inclusive) and Monday 4 to Friday 8 September (inclusive). The closures are necessary so the work can be carried out quickly and safely.

Whilst the closure is in place, pedestrians will still be able to access both Market Street and The Peel centre by walking to the end of Market Street and turning left on to Skimped Hill Lane (or this route in reverse).

We know that many of our residents have asked questions regarding postal voting.

All Bracknell Forest postal votes were sent out first class via Royal Mail on Wednesday, 19 April. We have been in discussion with Royal Mail regarding our election dates and they are aware of the importance of getting postal votes to people as quickly as possible and will treat postal votes as a priority.

If you have not received your postal vote pack by Thursday, 27 April, please contact our team at [email protected] or on 01344 352000 – we cannot re-issue any postal votes ‘lost in the post’ before that date due to election rules.

If you are voting by post, please make your choice and return your ballot paper as quickly as possible.

If you leave it too late to return your vote by post or you are concerned it will not get to us in time, you can take your sealed ballot papers to Time Square until 10pm on Thursday, 4 May or you can take them to any polling station in the ward you are voting in by 10pm on Thursday, 4 May.

Please do not take them to any other polling station.

Alternatively, you can pay for a courier to return your postal vote to the address on the envelope.

We hope that helps clarify any issues residents may have.
