The coastguards do an amazing job 👏🏻
But always check the tide times before heading out onto the rocks…it comes in quicker than you think…

The Coastguard Rescue Team from Bridlington and Filey were tasked by Humber Coastguard this afternoon at 12:03BST (28 August) to reports of 20 persons cut off by the tide at West Scar, Flamborough.

The coastguard team arrived on scene and quickly established with the Flamborough Lifeboat that all casualties required assistance from west scar back to the beach. Both Flamborough lifeboat and The Coastguard deployed rescuers to the water.

All casualties were assisted to shore by the RNLI lifeboat and Coastguard using a Sn**ch Water Technique. Thankfully all persons were successfully rescued and non required medical intervention.

This is a timely reminder that you MUST check the tide times before venturing onto rocks. The tide can flood quickly and easily cut you off. Remember if you do get into difficulty dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Another good job working alongside our colleagues from Flamborough RNLI and Filey Coastguard.
