My son’s library book about Dubai informed us they started building what was a fishing village, in the same year I was born… I fear Dubai has aged somewhat better!!

I have learnt so much about the UAE since I started with Destinology and realise there’s so much to discover… From the magnificent Saadiyat Island beach in Abu Dhabi, to the extravagant playground metropolis of Dubai, to the stunning coastline and mountains of Oman… happy birthday UAE and I can’t wait to return!

The FCDO has lifted its advice against all but essential travel for 32 countries and territories. This comes soon after the simplifying of the traffic light system into a single red list and the change in advice for other destinations such as the Maldives.

Good news: the world is starting to open up!! 🌎✈️🏝🍹 However..... As I’m sure most of you have heard, there’s a very limited list of Green countries - really only Portugal (unless you are vaccinated, then Iceland and Israel open up)... so I accept (with a hint of frustration) that we may have to wait until closer to travel, to plan our long awaited Summer Holidays abroad, at least with any degree of certainty. In the meantime, the guessing game is still on and I know that we, as Travel Counsellors, will be monitoring developments every step of the way. I was thrilled to see Kirsten Hughes, Travel Counsellor MD, on the BBC news just before the announcement tonight, giving an extremely realistic yet not pessimistic assessment of where we’re at. Voted number 1 out of 70 travel agencies in the UK by Martin Lewis, regarding how we responded to the pandemic, we are certainly here to support you though all the ups and downs when planning your much longed for get-away.
