A question that often gets asked by clients who haven't used my services before are why should I book with you? I get it, there's the internet, there's DIY packages and there are other agencies out there.
There are two main reasons I always share though (part 2 will come tomorrow) that go above and beyond the simple package protection, financial protection and expert advise.
I hate to say it but the main time you will feel the benefit of me booking your holidays is when things don't go to plan....
In the last few weeks here are a few emails and calls I've had to make to help support clients when things go wrong:
- Cancelled flights and airline trying to put them on a flight a day early - clients rebooked on new flight with a different airline and a 5* hotel included as they now depart a day later, all for free
- New va**ng rules and regulation in Asia - all clients emailed and informed to avoid fines
- Numerous hotels now with construction work that will impact clients stays - rebooked to new accommodation free of charge or clarified the impact on their stay and kept informed
- Delayed flights (the classic) - called the transfer company so they are aware and wait at the airport for them
That's not even including other scenarios I am currently keeping a close eye on like the devastating LA wildfires and snow-covered runways grounding flights.
My job, as your agent, doesn't stop when I book your trip. I am with you every step of the way. I'm also not a shop - I don't have set hours. It's quite common for me to respond to texts late into the evening and when things go wrong and need urgent help, the first thing I do is go log onto the system.
Would your high street agent do that?
Or even worse, if you booked this on the internet could you do all this yourself?
After 11 years in the industry, I know how to solve solutions fast and as stress free as possible. And what I don't know, our incredible 24/7 emergency team can help as well.
For those that travel with me, each travel pack (and on your digital documents) has emergency numbers including my land line & and mobile (all direct numbers to me - no call centres here) as well as our 24/7 teams number. For those on highly complex tailor made itineraries, an additional local number is often included too!
So next time you are thinking about your holiday and thinking about doing it all yourself consider if you could handle and deal with all of the above quickly, efficiently and calmly. More-over, consider whether your time is best spent looking forward to/ enjoying your holiday and let me take care of everything else.
