It's with a heavy heart I am temporarily closing Life's A Stitch. I have got an unexpected high workload and am going through personal things that need my focus.

70's vibes in the studio today... 70's inspired attire, sewing away to some of the greats, Led Zepplin, Fleetwood mac, pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joy Division and The Carpenters. Need to regulate the stress of getting all my sewing jobs finished so I can enjoy the festive season. 1 day to go 🎉

Skirt day yesterday... altered 6 skirts and made a skirt (pom pom tutu) for my daughters birthday. Cutting it fine as her birthday is today🙈🙉

🧵🪡Ladies tailored skirts have had the length shortened; waist taken in; back split sewn up and side slit added.

✂️🪡My daughters pop pom skirt was made from tulle folded and felted pom poms inside; a polyester pastel green satin, and stiff netting and lining for a sewn in petticoat.🤞Hope she likes it.

👰‍♀Bridal alteration. Fabric was used from the train to increase the size of the back section and allow my bride to feel comfortable. I love this alteration, as you just can't tell it's been altered.

10 years ago today I made the best decision of my life... I created Life's A Stitch. After years of hard work studying and achieving my degree in Fashion and Textiles, I decided to do a PGCE in secondary education to fulfil my ambition to become a Teacher. I taught D&T for a little while, and honestly I struggled to cope with the stress of teaching teenagers and working in such a prescribed way.

I made the challenging decision to work for myself doing something I love and I've never looked back. Honestly sewing saved me and I am so grateful I found my vocation in life 🥰
