We have a newly-renovated chalet in Kilkhampton (near Bude) and are just starting to let it out on Airbnb.
It overlooks stunning National Trust land views and has it's very own slice of sea (between the land and the sky).
It's fully stocked for a comfy stay, with comfy mattresses (sleeps 6) and is dog-friendly.
There is so much to explore in this area of North Cornwall. Lots of wonderful cliff walks and long sandy beaches at low tide (Sandymouth beach, which is only 4 mins drive away). Don't forget your National Trust membership cards for free parking at Sandymouth.
Our chalet is situated within Penstowe Park, which also has activities for children (and adults) should you wish them. It has an indoor heated swimming pool, an arcade, a bar and pool tables, plus restaurant. Great for kids and tweens/teens and rainy day activities.
We recommend you use the chalet as a base for a myriad of activities... Recommended activities/places to see are:
1. Walking around Bude, which is such a lovely seaside town with lots of independent shops. Bude won ‘Best UK Seaside Town’ at the British Travel Awards 2018 and is great for surfing/boogie boarding. There's always parking at Summerleaze beach carpark (longest I've ever waited is 10mins for a place in the height of summer) & at reasonable prices.
2. Tamar Lakes has boat hire, sailing etc and picnic spots/walks and is 10m drive from the chalet.
3. Bude sea pool in summer! It's the best! World-class sea pool where jurassic rocks meet the water's edge, with crashing surf beyond at Summerleaze/Crooklets beach. Especially fun at high tide, but great at any time and child friendly. You can paddle board in it too.
4. Widemouth Bay is excellent for surfing... Voted as the 2nd top Cornish surf spot on Cornishcottageholidays.
5. Duckpool beach/Summerleaze beach/Sandymouth beach
Make sure you look up the tides if you want wide, long sandy
beaches to walk on... Great for dogs too!
6. Exploring other places nearby - Tintagel, Boscastle, Clovelly, Hartland Heritage Coast... so much to choose from.
7. For anyone who has read 'The Salt Path', you'll know that it passes through Bude and there are great cliff walks along the coastal path.
8. Crazy golf, boat hire in the canal, tennis, bowling, 10 pin bowling... more activities in Bude itself.
9. We normally find that the chalet is so relaxing to be in that we find it hard to leave!
