Today was the last day of our tour of this amazing country.
Feeding an elephant at Udawalwe on route to the Elephant Transit Home, which cares for orphaned calves, until they are able to be released back into the wild.
Then a stop at Galle Dutch Fort, a lovely walk, with wonderful views of the Indian Ocean, a light house and beautiful little streets.

Arrived at our final hotel, NH Bentota Ceysands, which is accessed by a little boat ride.

😢We said goodbye to our absolutely amazing tour guide Uchinda, thanks to him we have made the most wonderful memories here, and fallen in love with Sri Lanka, and will most definitely return one day.

Just had to share this absolutely beautiful hotel.
Wild Culture is situated on the edge of Yala National Park. It is only 4.5 years old, and has 8 stunning rooms. No buffets, all meals are freshly cooked, you pick from the menu a few hours before and choose the time you wish to dine.
Will definitely be leaving a 5 star review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another wonderful day in beautiful Sri Lanka.
Today we boarded the train at Nuwaraeliya to Ella. The journey was around 3 hours long, through stunning scenery.
Then a quick lunch before our safari at the stunning Yala National Park.
Seeing water buffalo, spotted deer, crocodiles, mongoose, an array of birds, my favourite the elephants, and a brief sighting of a leopard, which unfortunately moved too quickly for me to get a picture.
Now relaxing at one of the most stunning hotels I have ever stayed in, Wild Culture.

So today we have left the city of Kandy (4th Capital City) and arrived at our next destination Nuwaraeliya.
On route we stopped at a tea plantation, and spoke with one of the ladies. They pick 25kg per day!
Then we stopped for brunch at the most amazing restaurant called Chill Ramboda, breathtaking views and wonderful food.
Then next stop was the beautiful Ramboda waterfall.
Next stop was the first post office in Sri Lanka, where we purchased and posted a post card home, which takes approximately 10 days to arrive.
Then time for refreshments, we purchased beer from a local shop and visited Gregory Lake Park, and went on a little boat ride around the lake with our amazing guide Uchinda.
Now relaxing at our hotel, before another amazing day tomorrow 😊

A quieter day today, visiting the gem factory, a tea factory and a beautiful walk round the Botanical Gardens.
Visited a small village temple and bought souvenirs from the village craftsmen, rather than in the tourist areas.
Had lunch with our amazing guide.
Now for a swim in the rooftop pool, before dinner and then packing up ready for our next destination.

Fabulous afternoon in Kandy.
First stop we went to a cultural dance show, followed by a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth.
Now relaxing on the rooftop bar😊🥂

Today so far ….
On route to Kandy we stopped at the fruit and vegetable market, so fascinating, so busy, this was apparently a quiet time.

Next stop was a spice and herbal garden, where we learnt about natural remedies and medicine.

Later this afternoon in Kandy we will be visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, followed by a cultural dance show.
