May has certainly been a funny month weather wise 🌦️

We have been busy in the garden weeding & planting. Going for bike rides and enjoying days out.

Here are some of my favourite captures from the month including of course the Northern Lights and the Flower Moon.

A sunny day in Troston - the birds were singing and the cuckoo was very vocal as I made my way into the village.

There were lots of classic cars to see at the village pub which were lovely.

As I walked back past our pretty church I saw a Red Kite flying overhead. Everywhere looks lush & green and the scent of flowers are delightful 🪻

It certainly feels like summer today! 🌞

We took a stroll around Abbey Gardens whilst the sun was shining this morning. We are so lucky to have these beautiful gardens in Bury St Edmunds and only a 15 min drive from Willow Barn 🪻

From painting to pastries, seaside outings, delicious food and family time at Easter 🐣 March has been a lovely month with the days getting longer & warmer and the blossom & buds starting to bloom 🌸

Some photos from a recent visit to Southwold 📷

We first went for breakfast at Old Hall Southwold Cafe & Walks where we parked the car and decided to walk the ‘Marsh Meander’. We followed the footpath south along the river Blyth and arrived at Southwold Harbour 🐟

Southwold Harbour is situated in an area that is designated as an area of outstanding beauty and is adjacent to the Southwold Denes Beach. The harbour is a lovely place to visit in the summer months - with fishermen huts serving food & drinks. You can also catch the rowing boat ferry across to Walberswick ⛴️

Later that day we went into the town centre to the renowned The Little Fish and Chip Shop and ate our delicious chips by the beach. A visit to Adnams brewery is also a most 🍺

Southwold is a 75 min drive from Willow Barn and is a perfect day out 💛

Thetford Forest is the largest pine forest in Great Britain and is located in the heart of East Anglia’s Breckland region. The forest stretches from the south of Norfolk to north Suffolk.

There’s so much to see and do – you’ll find miles of trails to enjoy on foot, by bicycle or horseback. At the ‘Go Ape’ high wire adventure course you can trek for two or three hours among the tree tops, high above the forest floor.

Thetford Forest is less than a 20 min drive from Willow Barn. Just remember to bring your walking boots when you stay with us! 🥾🚲🗺️🌲.
