Heritage Open Days, England's largest community led festival of history and culture, runs from 6-15 September bringing people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history.

Among the historic South Cambs venues taking part are Town End Close Nature Reserve, Landbeach Tithe Barn, the American Cemetery and Memorial, The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey and All Saints Church in Cottenham.

Other events celebrating more recent history this weekend are the Croydon Classic Vehicle Show, and Orwell Pannier Market which celebrates its 20th Anniversary on Saturday. Congratulations! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

Meanwhile, thereā€™s fun in the Fens with the Dragon Boat Festival and Autumn Regatta in Fen Ditton and a Canoe Safari at Fen Drayton Lakes.

Do you run, or do you know, a South Cambridgeshire , , or business that could benefit from this small business support?

Weā€™ve launched a new support scheme for South Cambridgeshire businesses who are looking to start up or grow within the district.

The scheme provides free advice and support from Business & IP Centre Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Growth Hub for entrepreneurs who are looking to start up a new business and grants up to Ā£5,000 for trading businesses with up to nine employees looking to grow within the district.

Applications will be open until 31 October 2024.

There really is something for everyone in this weekend.

Ancient Oak Fayre at Quy Estate offers a weekend jam-packed with jousting, jesters and more Medieval and Viking fun! Have a go at archery or axe throwing, while youngsters can explore the Fairy Glade. There are also live performances, craft stalls and refreshments including a Medieval Inn serving authentic ales and ciders.

For a slower paced stroll into the past on Sunday, Hinxton Watermill Open Day includes a fundraising tea with Whereā€™s Ratty contest for the kids, or browse the antiques, collectables and vintage fair in Great Chishill.

Look to the skies in Duxford on Saturday to see a tribute to 19 Squadron, while on Sunday itā€™s all wheels on the ground for the Duxford Soap Box Derby.

Thereā€™s live music at Wylde Sky Brewing in Linton, BrewBoard in Harston and the Tithe Barn in Landbeach, while you can bet on a good time at The Plough Duxford's Casino Night or mosey on down to the Country Cowboy Evening at Harlton Hare and Hounds.

There are feasts and festivals with The Cider Festival at The Black Horse Rampton, Frank's Fest at Frank's Farm in Elsworth and The Chequers Orwellā€™s Music and Beer Festival. Get your dancing shoes on and join the fun at The Tickell Arms Ceilidh in Whittlesford.

Why not combine a visit to the Little Gransden Charity Air & Car Show on Sunday with a trip to the Gransdens Farmers Market, browsing the artisan food, drink and homeware before thrilling at the air displays, classic cars and fairground rides.

The Ice Queen, Snow Princess, Tower Princess and Mermaid Princess invite girls and boys to a Fairytale Ball at Minstrel Court in Whaddon.

There's plenty to tickle your taste buds in this weekend, kicking off with al fresco pizza and barbecue at The Three Hills in Bartlow tonight, a breakfast bonanza at The Tickell Arms on Saturday then Wylde Sky Brewing have an evening of food from Steak & Honour and live music from The Spree. Thereā€™s a choice of food trucks and refreshments at Cambourne Community Street Fair, which will be raising money for The Slam Project, East Anglia's Children's Hospices - EACH and Willows Edge Angling.

Enjoy a taste of Summer in this weekend. Starting this evening until 6pm Sunday, Royal Oak, Barrington Beer Festival promises a fantastic range of real ales, delicious food and live music on the green, while The Hatch in Knapwell hosts an evening of locally sourced food, drink and music on Saturday.

For fans of fresh air, thereā€™s Shakespeare in the park at Milton Country Park, landscaping in Landbeach, open gardens in Duxford, and see the scythes at work in Wandlebury all weekend.

The Shelford Feast kicks off tomorrow with a beer festival, then continues with a week full of live bands, DJs, comedy and quizzes. Balsham Feast is a traditional village event with Punch and Judy, face painting, classic car display and music from Haverhill Youth and Community Band and the Balsham Singers while Harlton Hare and Houndsā€™ Hootenanny promises to be ā€œthe best little family friendly music festival in Harlton since the last oneā€.

If you prefer to spend Summer evenings relaxing al fresco, the Sunset Series at Wimpole Estate NT starts tonight with Nightingale, a look at the Lady With The Lampā€™s life, and continues tomorrow with the Great Dane, Hamlet.
