I’m always advising people to book early to get the best price - yet this year I haven’t followed my own advice and have left it until the last minute to find anything!

So I started looking for a last minute holiday for my own family and came across this great deal that I’ve decided to share.

We had a few things we were looking for - decent flight times, all inclusive (because cooking and cleaning is not a holiday), near the beach and with waterslides for the kids.

The Aydinbey Gold Dreams fits all of these requirements. It’s a 5* resort in the lovely area of Antalya. It’s right on the beach, has a spa for the parents, 3 restaurants, 2 bars and is rated 4.5 on TripAdvisor.

These apartments are a 20-minute drive from Heraklion airport, only 300 m from the sandy beach and the water sports facilities of Gouves. Within walking distance of the hotel there are various shops and markets, as well as taverns and restaurants with a bus stop is conveniently situated right outside the premises. The resort has been built in a “village” form for your relaxing holidays, with plenty of gardens, full of olives oil trees and Mediterranean flowers that give you the true local atmosphere of Crete. The apartments are spacious with their own equipment and balcony / terrace.

✈️ Arrive Early: Arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare to allow for check-in, security checks, and any unexpected delays. This helps reduce stress and gives you time to manage any last-minute issues.

✈️ Pack Essentials in Carry-On: Pack a well-stocked carry-on bag with essentials such as snacks, drinks, nappies, wipes, medications, entertainment (books, toys, tablets), and comfort items like blankets and stuffed animals. Be prepared for delays by having extra supplies on hand.

✈️ Choose Seating Wisely: Select seats strategically, considering factors such as proximity to the toilet, space for children to move around, and access to window views or entertainment screens. Consider pre-booking seats to ensure your family sits together.
