HAAAAAY THERE!

That’s Hay Festival wrapped up and put on the bookshelf for another year. We are hugely delighted to have secured a multi year contract to provide power generation, electrical distribution and architectural lighting going forward.

“Figure of Eight not only deliver but always exceed our expectations year on year. It’s always well thought out, it’s always well executed and it’s always just sorted…no drama, no fuss!” commented production director Georgie Cooke.

We are hugely honoured to have been entrusted to support the festival over the next number of years. We put a huge amount of preparation and resource into ensuring we improve our offering each year and this year has been no exception with the progression of car charging onsite.

UNSTOPPABLE SUPPORT

This weekend we provided power, fuel management and staging for the Blenheim Triathlon in Oxfordshire. We deployed fourteen of our own generator sets across the course with an array of cabling and distribution to suit. We also delivered a range of platforms and stages onsite using our existing transport, a cost saving that we passed directly on to our client.

We have been working with HowTheLightGetsIn Festival since 2018 providing sound, lighting, video, power, backline and site infrastructure. They love working with us and we believe it’s a great example of our ability to deliver such a variety of quality technical production in ten venues that improves every year without fail. Last night we hosted headliners The Orb with stunningly clear d&b audio, immersive lighting and projection onto the structure’s roof, creating a wildly hypnotic experience. Our team of ten amazing technicians are smashing it.

60 YEARS OF DOCTOR WHO

We recently provided audio for a hugely creative celebration of 60 years of Doctor Who in Cardiff Bay for our good friends at BBC. The projection show reel display onto a fine mist of water across Roath lock made for a truly magnificent reminder of some of the programs most iconic moments over the years. Our audio support reinforced the show with almost impeccable coverage from our Martin Audio system. "The challenge was in trying to create a suitably impactful solution that wouldn't bother close by residents" commented Rich Rayner, Figure of Eight's Production manager. "By rigging a larger number of our smaller Martin Audio point source boxes all the way along the viewing areas on poles at 3m, we were able to achieve more localised direction and contain the noise within quay".
