A great day on Saturday- a morning providing archery sessions for a youth event at Houghton and Kingmoor Church. A great turnout with more than 23 young people.

Tuesday was our last Forest School of the 2023 with Houghton C of E School, Carlisle.
This half term has seen us exploring a wide range of activities including shelter building, investigating animal habitats, fires, knife use, pulley systems, woodland games, woodland craft and much more.

I’ve been a bit rubbish on the social media lately due to being very busy.
However after the summer holidays, I’ve been doing a weekly Forest School and after school club at Holm Cultram Abbey C of E Primary School.
They have been an amazing school to work with and have done very well in some very challenging weather over the last couple of months.
I’ll try to be better on posting updates on what we are up to.

Monday Forest School at Kirkbride Primary School- it was our first session back at Kirkbride after the holidays and children spent the afternoon with a bit of site maintenance.

Tuesday Forest School with Houghton C of E School, Carlisle.
On Tuesday it was our last Forest School of the school year- the children set up camp to shelter us from the rain, then it was camp fire quesadillas.

Monday Forest School at Kirkbride Primary School- it was the year 6’s last session with us before moving on to their next school, so by request it was popcorn on the fire and hot chocolate on the storm kettle.

on Friday it was crafts, games and hot chocolate from the storm kettle.

A great day of archery with Blackford C of E Primary School yesterday.
Traditional archery for most children then soft archery for the early years. Great weather this time, rather than the pouring rain we had last year.

Tuesday Forest School with Houghton C of E School, Carlisle.
Yesterday the children looked at creating their own private space in the woods, where they could they could go if feeling stressed or for some alone time.
We also had a go at making mini shelters for stuffed toys before having hot chocolate from the storm kettle.
