What a beautiful day it has been today, we got treated to another frost and glorious sunshine. These pics of our High Longlands pod were from last week's cold spell as the sun was coming up over Hampsfell in the distance.

Our High Longlands pod has 2 booking slots left for January and you can book a 4 night stay for the same price as 3! We have a deal on for a stay from the 20th - 24th and also for the 27th - 31st.

Cartmel is steeped in history and not just within the village itself. Looking out from our pods you get a perfect view of Hampsfell (great for walking), but what you can’t quite see is a Grade II listed folly nestled behind 2 trees! Built between 1835-54, the Hampsfell Tower (also known as the Longlands Tower) can be seen from one of the footpaths leading to the summit of Hampsfell itself from Cartmel village.

We get a good variety of weather in the Lake District, blue skies on a change-over day are always a welcome sight! It makes the grass cutting easier for one thing and is lovely for arriving guests to enjoy a drink on the deck. It's a good idea to keep your eyes on the skies though, the weather this last few days has left us with plenty of windfall apples in the farm orchard! 🌦🍎

Here's a different view point of our Longlands Farm site with both our accommodation options and the Lake District mountains beyond. For families looking for a stay with us our renovated cottage (to the left of the first image) caters for up to 6 guests. Our 4 luxury pods are designed for couples. The cottage has its own private garden area including hot tub and each of the 4 pods has its own private deck area with hot tub, all heated from our biomass system on the farm.

Also thanks to a recent guest in our High Longlands pod for the lovely review at the end of this post, we really appreciate it! 😊

Staying in or heading out? It's race weekend in Cartmel, if you're staying with us it's only a short walk down to the village and racecourse! There's live music after the racing on Friday but if you don't fancy soaking up the atmosphere in the village you can always drink-in the peace & quiet back at the pod!

Beautiful Cartmel village is in walking distance from our pods, it's a small village that packs a lot in and is definitely worth a visit. Originally known for its stunning Priory before the Racecourse emerged around 1856 and now also well known for its foodie delights! With world renowned Sticky Toffee Pudding, artisan foods, 2 Michelin Star restaurants and lovely pubs there is plenty to go at.

Named after the woodland opposite the neighbouring field, 'Little Heaning', like our 3 other pods, is nestled amongst rolling rural views and as this lovely review (thank you so much 😊) says; "the perfect place to switch off and relax".

We sometimes refer to our Pod site as a glamping site which can still conjure up an image involving some form of camping, so it may not be the best word to describe us! We have 4 pods and each has a comfy king size bed, shower room with walk-in shower, high end appliances in the kitchen, a private parking space (with access to an EV charge point), and not forgetting it's own hot tub!

Because we are a small, rural site it's nice and quiet too, so each pod has it's own private balcony / deck area to really bring the outside in, giving you the outside connection but without the roughing it part!
