The autumn forest is starting to shine.

The floor a red and brown carpet, looking up a sea of yellow and orange
Each trip into the forest results in me losing myself as I chase the colour through the trees.

It's a beautiful place to be lost and finding myself again is all part of the fun 😊💜

A busy day of guests leaving and guests arriving. The weather is very mixed but Galloway is just beautiful at this time of year as the seasons turn and the forest begins to show such gorgeous colours.

Yesterday I was out for a cycle ride in the late afternoon. Beautiful blue sky and sunshine. I stopped for a sit to enjoy the view and then noticed an ominous cloud appearing. I decided it best to get moving but I didn't beat the rain.
A torrential downpour caused me to seek shelter under a beautiful Horse Chestnut near to Balmaghie Kirk.
The tree was wonderful, keeping me protected from the tempest that had been unleashed.
And the church was beautiful. A gorgeous location overlooking Loch Ken and a lovely place to stop for shelter.

Another beautiful day in Galloway.

Autumn is taking tentative steps. Leaves on the ground and the trees beginning to turn. And it's still so sunny and warm.

The latest guests left this morning after a week here and they left such a lovely note.
It was a pleasure to have them here at Drumwhill.

Hearing the children laughing and playing every morning made me smile and they were such lovely, friendly kids. Helping me in the garden one afternoon and inventing games was so much fun 😊

Mum and Dad enjoyed a peaceful evening watching the full moon rise over the loch. It was a beautiful night. Warm, calm and peaceful with owls calling from the forest. I'm so glad they got to experience that.

Dad looked so relaxed and rested when he came to say goodbye. It always fills my heart to see what this place offers to those that come 💜

Another beautiful day in Galloway.

We've been blessed with weeks of sunny, warm weather and this looks set to continue. Swimming in the loch every day and watching people out exploring the loch in kayaks. It's a short 5 minute walk to the loch so very close for those that enjoy being out on the water.

We have some availability still in June so the perfect time to come experience the peace and tranquility of Galloway in the sunshine 😊

Tonight we got a brand new visitor in the form of a very inquisitive Pine Marten😊

Well, it looked like it had been before. It knew which spots to inspect for food.
But a brand new visitor for us 😊😊😊

The warm sunny weather continues on another beautiful day in Galloway. The Hawthorn blossom is looking spectacular right now.

Tonight we got a brand new visitor in the form of a very inquisitive Pine Marten😊 Well, it looked like it had been before. It knew which spots to inspect for food. But a brand new visitor for us 😊😊😊

Having a cup of tea, listening and watching the birds when I heard a Red Kite calling, quite close. I got up to look around and it was perched at the top of the Oak at the bottom of the garden. It then took off and I got to enjoy watching it fly for a few moments 😊

An owl very close tonight, sounded like it was coming from the trees in the garden. It was moving around calling out, eventually I heard a response from a female down near the loch. Was lovely to listen to 😊💜

Enjoying a cup of tea and listening to the birds while I wait for the next guests to arrive 😊

A Nuthatch visits the feeder at the cottage during this weekends #BigGardenBirdWatch Just after I'd stopped filming 2 Nuthatch visited, one chasing the other off before taking some nuts and swooping quickly off to the trees.
