Who thinks this frosty snap of Hathersage looks like a scene from The Holiday?! 🎥🎄❄️

Known as the Peak District’s outdoor hub, this charming village is surrounded by some of the area’s most stunning landscapes including the huge gritstone escarpment of Stanage Edge ⛰

Hathersage has a host of cafes and pubs, an outdoor swimming pool with great views, and is home to David Mellor Design 🍴

It’s also famous for its literary links and legends: Hathersage inspired author Charlotte Bronte when writing Jane Eyre ✍️ and the grave of Little John (Robin Hood’s right hand man) 🗡 can be found in the local churchyard!

Hands up if Hathersage is on your wish list for 2025! 🙋‍♀️

This picturesque Peak District village is bursting with charm at every turn 💫🏡

Surrounded by spectacular countryside, Castleton is famous for its show caverns and is the only place in the world where the unique Blue John Stone is found ✨💎

The village’s Peveril Castle is one of England’s earliest Norman fortresses and has a keep that was built by Henry II in 1176! ⚔️

Discovering the magical world of Lud’s Church 😯🌳 This deep, moss-covered chasm is full of myths and legends ✨

In the 15th century it was used as a secret place for worship and other local legends say Robin Hood and Friar Tuck stayed in the cleft whilst hiding from the authorities 🧝

Close to the Roaches in Leek and Staffordshire’s Back Forest, the 18 metre deep chasm is covered from top to bottom in vibrant moss 🌿

Christmas at Chatsworth House in numbers 🎄✨ 33 spectacular Christmas trees, decorating over 20 rooms, with a total of 45,000 bulbs and 20,000 baubles to bring the festivities to life 🕯️

It takes around 2,500m of lights to create Christmas at Chatsworth, with low energy LED bulbs used to reduce the amount of energy needed to power the installations 💡

200m of garlands adorn the decorated rooms and the Painted Hall’s 24-foot tree alone takes two people 10 hours to fully decorate! 🎄

This year’s immersive theme brings to life the original story of ‘Henry and the Lion’s Christmas Feast’ with pop up theatres, spectacular light installations and decorations 🦁

This year's displays also include 200 characterful handmade felt mice who can be spotted carrying 10 different food dishes across 20 individual scenes, causing mischief as they make their way to the feast! 🐭🥧

📍 Chatsworth House: A Christmas Feast takes place until 5 January 2025.
