We’re very sad to say that our lovely chalet was flooded in the early hours of Tuesday morning, by extreme high tides and coastal flooding.

Thank you to the staff at Medmerry, the coastguard and the emergency services for helping evacuate everyone safely, including our guests.

At this stage we are waiting for the site to be safe enough for site management to access, so they can start assessing the extent of the damage.

As soon as we have any more information, we will contact guests who have booked with us and let you know what is happening.

In the immediate future the site is closed until at least the 13th May. We have been in contact with all guests who have a booking within this period and will be issuing refunds for these bookings.

If you have a booking for later in the year and would like a refund for your deposit, please send us a message. We are hoping that everything will be functional again by the summer!

Happy New Year to all of our guests (furry and human). Thank you for staying with us in 2023.

It was a blustery start to the 2024 on the beach this morning, the perfect way to blow out the cobwebs.

We look forward to welcoming you all again in 2024. The chalet is reopen to guests in March, but bookings are now open for the entire year.

It’s our one year chalet-versary!

We collected the keys to our lovely little chalet a year ago this week. We have made so many amazing memories in the last year and I feel so lucky that we have this place to escape to. It really is a special part of the country!

We still have limited dates available for June, June and August so do get in touch if you are interested in a beach getaway in West Sussex, close to the Witterings!

Beachcomber is ideally placed to visit Gunwharf Quays designer outlet in Portsmouth and the historic town of Chichester. This year the beautiful Chichester Christmas market returns from 2nd December, along with a Christmas market and ice rink at Sea Bay Resort in nearby Selsey.
