al UK and European coverage. Dartline national coach hire commenced business on the 4th January 1987 covering Devon County Contracts to Torquay, Okehampton, Exmouth and locally in Exeter. Commencing with a fleet of 6 Minibuses & 2 Coaches Dartline grew very quickly expanding within 2 years to 6 Minibuses, 3 midi coaches & 3 coaches one being an executive running to Gatwick & Heathrow airports. Dartline coaches continued to grow picking up private school contracts to Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth & Newton Abbot, until 1991 when it purchased the Exeter operation of Roberts Coaches from Western National and commenced servicing the local prison contract carrying prisoners to Crown Courts in Bodmin, Truro, Taunton, Plymouth & Exeter even transferring as far a field as Manchester, Durham, Dartmoor, Leicester, & Bristol.Minibuses and mini coaches for hire across the UK nationally
Dartline coaches moved into purpose built workshop & offices at Sowton Industrial Estate and continued to expand on a yearly bases until 1999 when it purchased another local operator called Bow Belle of Crediton moving this time out of the City to a New Depot at Clyst St Mary where it is today. With Bow Belle came a contract with Majestic Holidays supplying coaches weekly for most of the year to Scarborough. It also covers weekend Breaks for other Holiday Company’s to Edinburgh London Birmingham NEC as well as Continental Breaks where it can boast trips to Prague, Vienna, Paris, Disneyland, Strasbourg, Brussels, Berlin, Munich & many more. Also covering educational school coach trips to Ypres, the Somme Battlefields & Normandy amongst others, and picking up students from various countries these normally arriving by Ferry ports at Dover, Portsmouth, Southampton and Poole. Dartline coach hire has now grown to 45 vehicles of varying sizes, and employs approx 50 drivers and mechanical staff. It also covers some 60 car contracts using its own small taxi fleet and sub contracting in about 40 cars from various company’s these cover contracts to Weymouth, Paignton, Totnes, Exbourne, Ashreigney, Barnstaple and many more.
