Bookworm Abroad van was replaced with a short-term fix just as festival season started, and that has now gone to join it in the great scrapyard in the sky. I present to you it with its successor which is somewhat larger. I quite miss the bookworms on the van but in other ways it's quite nice to be anonymous white van woman for a change.....

Just a little tribute, slightly overdue, to the Bookworm Abroad van, which went to the van resting place in the sky in May, after 15.5 years of trusty but increasingly erratic good service. I remember the day I got the van, and the day it was returned to me with the logo on the sides and the back. It got me through markets, a lot of unexpected travel in the UK, then to Spain and back between Dec 2010 and March 2004, and everywhere since then. The sticker was still in the window from 2008/9 when we were fighting to keep local markets in Erewash and somewhat ironically stayed in the window all through its European journeys. Now it really isn't round the corner any more.

Just reminding you all.........I know I've been a bit quiet for a while, partly because it's so hard to share posts between profiles now without a lot of messing about, and also not much to say. Festivals a bit thin on the ground this year to say the least, possibly just as well when pitch fees need paying and income is poor, so while you wait with bated breath for the list of where and when I will be this summer, how about buying a t-shirt or two??

It's been quite a year as I got to grips with being back in the UK for the first "normal" year, tried to master the design, production and packing of t-shirts, wasted my time at a couple of new events and had to cry off a couple more due to heat and exhaustion. Thankyou to everyone who sees me at festivals, watches from afar and/or buys books. This show will be on the road again in 2023 and the confirmed dates will be on the web site shortly www.bookworm-abroad.co.uk

It's never going to be viable to have an online shop for books when the giants are flogging them with free postage but you can buy bundles for £20 including postage which gives you on average 5 paperbacks of quality sometimes 6, a hint on what content you'd like or take pot luck with something new chosen by me. Audio books I already listed to no avail but they're all still available in a previous post and an album of photos.

Anyone wants to do some good on one of the most materialistic days of the year, buy a t-shirt and help Centrepoint.
I'm already pledging £5 to animal rescues in Spain for every "Adopt don't shop" t-shirt and not just tomorrow. That's forever.
And if you happen to want to buy some audio books tomorrow from the last major post on here, I'll give 10% of any sale to the RNLI.

Centrepoint supports more than 15,000 homeless 16-25 year olds a year into a home and a job. We think it's time to end youth homelessness in the UK.
