Twitching, birding, ornithology or simply birdwatching – there are so many names for one of the nation’s favourite past times.

Did you know many of our campsites offer the perfect base for a spot of birdwatching?

Sat within an hours drive of London, our Theobalds Park Club Site might seem an unlikely spot to pitch-up for a spot of bird watching, but with more than 300 species of bird recorded in London in a single year, this might be the perfect spot some wonderful birds including waxwings, bramblings and chaffinches.

On site a ring-necked parakeet is often spotted, put a nut feeder up will attract them to your pitch, giving you a great opportunity to get close to them.

Congratulation to Susan Pattwell, who won a brand new Swift Group Sprite Apline 4 Caravan worth over £22,000 in our competition!

Susan is already planning her first adventure “I have two dogs Mabel and Gizmo, and it is just perfect as I don’t need to worry about who will look after them when I am away. I can just bring them with me wherever I go. They won’t be allowed on the bed though, but there are two sofas so they can have one each!”

She went onto share “When I was a child we wanted a caravan, and I had recently been saving up for a campervan. I don’t need one now, and can use that money to pay for trips, ideally every weekend! The main plan is to take mum to Ireland to visit the Ring of Kerry. That would just be fantastic.”
