This Church, where Sir John Betjeman is buried,is magnificently peaceful.
Between 1550 and 1850 it was largely submerged by the sand of the dunes. In order to be eligible to collect the tithe payments, a church service had to be held annually. The vicar and congregation were compelled to enter the church through the roof.
