What a great little place, just round the corner, nice cafe, great tour guides and the £5.95 ticket gets you in all year round! Highly recommend a visit 🥰

Evening All! Some of you may have spotted posts or have been talked to death, about a new business adventure of mine on Etsy! Along with my ‘MAD’ art shop on Etsy I’ve recently opened ‘Purdy & Vintage’.

It will be a lovely online shop of vintage and purdy things that I’ve acquired over the years.
From cool vintage books, magazines,
jewellery, haberdashery, tailoring paraphernalia, clothes, ornaments and cute collectibles, to art and craft supplies!

It’s still in the very early stages of development, so bare with me while I stock up!
A new purdy logo is currently being created, but I won’t be launching a new fb page for the moment, hopefully no one will mind me using this one for both 😂

My Story

I’m mostly a textile and mixed media artist based on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire border. When not distracted by a noisy family and the cat, I’m lucky enough to work from my home studio in the thriving village of Castle Donington, where I also co own and run The Two Birds Gallery with my very talented and creative bestie Helen Rhodes aka HWR Designs.

I originally trained as a make up artist but moved into art and fell in love with felting when children made traveling to work complicated. My wool work is a bright, vibrant, tactile and visually exciting collection of hand felted wall art, homeware, jewellery and greetings cards. I also enjoy painting and more recently creating pen and ink drawings.

Some would say I’m easily distracted, so I’m inspired by a diverse range of ‘stuff’ from innovative design, interiors, gardens and a love of travel, to history, art, food and fantasy fiction books and films. My greatest inspiration, support and sometimes totally too honest critics are my amazing family and friends. Thanks guys.
