The Hilton Edinburgh Carlton is a lovely hotel with bright and spacious rooms in a good location on North Bridge. Itโs well located, only a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station and Princes street where all the main buses and trams run. It is close to all the major attractions, the castle, old town, Omni center for shopping and near the museums.
The city sightseeing open top bus also starts nearby. The hotel also has a nice bar area and a Marco Pierre White steak restaurant.
The kids enjoyed the National Museum of Scotland and the zoo was a hit!
We used the city sightseeing bus (kids are free) to go to the castle (under 7โs are free) museum (free entry) and shopping center. Then used a local bus for the zoo.
** TRAVEL TIP ** - if you travel with LNER - if the train is delayed by more than an hour (which ours was on the return journey) you get 100% of the fare back in compensation! Or 50% for over half an hour delay.
Ours has already been approved. How good is that?!
