Half term in White Cliffs Country is packed with fun – hunt dinosaurs, explore castles, see snowdrops, watch birds, join Tourmaline and the Museum of Marvels, hop on board the River Runner, and lots more.

• Take part in the Dino Hunt at Betteshanger Park (all week)
• See the History Makers at Dover Castle* (all week) and join a Signs of Spring guided walk at Walmer Castle Gardens* (15 & 20 Feb)
• Follow a snowdrop walk at Goodnestone Park Gardens (all week)
• Take part in Bird Bingo at Fort Burgoyne (21 Feb)
• Join Tourmaline and the Museum of Marvels at Kent Mining Museum (all week)
• Take a trip aboard the River Runner from Sandwich to Pegwell Bay to see seals (all week, various times)
• Head to Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory for a half term workshop exploring the reserve (19 Feb)

*English Heritage sites in the area now offer free-to-borrow sensory backpacks designed to help visitors with sensory processing needs have a more enjoyable experience. Each backpack contains tools like fidget widgets, plush toys, and ear defenders to help manage sensory input and reduce stress. Simply ask to borrow one at the ticket desk when you arrive on site.

Are you hardy enough..?! Head to Dover seafront on Boxing Day for an invigorating dip in the sea ❄🥶😁

Brrrrrr 🐻‍❄️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️🥶
Our long standing annual tradition that is the magnificent DLGC Boxing Day Dip will be at midday at the sea sport centre, near the new pier. Registration is from 11.15.

For those who are unfamiliar this essentially involves running into the sea and braving the cold for as long as you can stand. Fancy dress is optional but it is always nice to see a pack of T-Rex's or male mermaids running down the beach.

Why not give it a go and see if you can start towards the current record which stands at 49 annual dips.

Polar club badge collectors will be the usual price of £3 or free for DLGC members.

These lovely wooden Christmas tree decorations featuring key landmarks in Deal, Dover and Sandwich are just £2.50 each and available to buy from the Dover Museum shop, Sandwich Guildhall Visitor Information Centre and The Riverside Centre in Dover.
You'll find lots of other lovely festive items and gifts in Dover Museum shop, which is open from 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, closing at 3pm on Christmas Eve.
